3 gallon or 5 gallon grow bags?

Hey all, setting up a better grow room this time and I would like to know if I should go with 3 gallon or 5 gallon pots. I have about 3 feet of growing space max in a 5x5 room on trays, 1 plant per square foot. I'll be using equal parts worm castings, perlite and peat moss potting mix. Regular seeds. Thanks!

If you have only 3 feet of vertical height you might want to go even smaller.

Im sorry but those plants look 3 feet and theyre not even in flowering yet.. @Fly_25 I agree with @Ponky 1 gallon pots are perfect

Would I then have to transplant to a larger pot before flowering? Or will there be no issue flowering in a 1 gallon pot?

Maybe the photo looks deceiving in size , but these plants are now almost finishing up on day 14 of flower and they are in 3 gallon pots and the height from the floor to the top of the canopy is about 28"....just measured. I have been using 3 gallon pots and watering/ feeding every 6th day at present...I feel watering would need to be more frequent in smaller pots

Gotcha I still think he should include variation of genetics into the equation just incase he gets a stretchier strain ya feel me my guy. What soil @Fly_25 ? You wouldn't have to transplant

If you use a SCROG you can control the stretch by weaving the plant into your trellis. I have 3 different genetic strains growing in this grow, all different, but, I can control the stretch. It's just a matter of what technique you use I guess

I'll be using regular seeds so by chance the square foot per plant will double during flowering, after removing the males. The bigger the pot size will give you a taller plant.. you only have 3 feet total? or is that already including your light? depending on your light you might need more than a foot in between your light and your plants.

Na mane you're right light burn is a BIG problem. I mean do you have a dimmer on that mars? You could try the 3 gallon..next time go 1 gallon if you get any burn.

Less media is better. Dry off faster. 3 gallons plenty. Nice short stalk plants that dry our in 2 to 3 days if perfect.

I've seen people do the solo cup challenge and go all the way through flower, but they are often watering like 3 times a day at the end, and when they finally finish, it's like there is no soil left at all....yet they finish
