Trimming and clipping plants on a SCRoG are part of the gig, but when do you stop?

I have plants SCRoGing at 3 weeks flowering with a healthy secondary canopy but my question is how much is too much? and how late is too late?

With reverence given to the possibilty of stunting growth and bud production what is the safest route to go for trimming, would a staged defoliation over the course of a week be slow enough to ease the plant into more vigorous upper canopy growth?

P.S. lights are only half on for a pic, otherwise fuggedabout it.

Day 21 or after budset looks complete, I strip everything below the net,
This is my scrog day 5 of flower.
Doesn’t hurt to pluck a leaf here and there if their blocking budsites.

Would that still apply with an extended Veg. time?

Per-chance the grower decided to extend the 24/0 light cycle for an extra 2 weeks?

Below is the above grow at 6 weeks vegetative on the eve of the 12/12 switch.

I do a defoliation and lollipop of the plants a few days before the flip, then pluck a leaf here and there until day21, then defoliate again as needed.
