I have an EcoPlus 1/2 HP commercial chiller that is set to chill 40-gallons to 65 degrees. It kicks-off/on every few minutes and only runs for a minute or two. It's almost constantly cycling. Not literally but almost. The ambient room temperature is 75 degrees.

Can I put a cycle timer on this unit and have the timer come on for 5-10 minutes every 60-minutes without damaging the unit?

Thoughts?

I run 2 of the eco plus 1/2 hp chillers one is 8 years old the other is 2 years old now and run as they are designed without the need for a timer.

Ps: i run the real live system with decent results. Just the chiller but no hydroguard.

Edit: if you're concerned that the chiller is oversized and thats why it cycles all the time, dont be.
