I've been after that AJ Sour since I lost mine over a year ago. That thing makes some killer crosses.

I've got the GMO and she is another cut that makes killer crosses.

Both are terp-machines that produce high yeilding quality buds and concentrate.

The two of them make some killer gas when crossed.

I got mostly tall, vigorous, easy to trim, heavy yeilding, kick your ass beasts.

I had to flower them at a friend's house 4 hours south of me, I'll spare you all the details but they were not grown optimally.

A few on the whispy side

What crosses did you make?
Have any old pics of your AJ?... I've been collecting Sour cuts, and the AJ is a weird one.

Alive and well, thanks mr.Goodman πŸ™†β€β™€οΈπŸ₯°πŸ„πŸ₯΄

Yea the AJ has a disease or something. She would grow beautifully, put on a nice bud set and then all of a sudden, you'd be in there trimming fan leaves and pull one off and a whole Branch would break off with it. It would just do that, it would drop like 20% of its branches throughout the grow.

I want to know if anyone has done a meristem tissue culture on it, and if not I want to look into doing it. I think dark heart Nursery offers the service.

I've really only run 3 crosses I've made with it. All were extremely vigorous seed plants. Through my reversals of the AJ I've also accumulated 30 or so S1s.

AJ(reversed) x Blue Skittles
Big monster plants with lemony sweet sour skunky pissy terps. I've got pics on my laptop somewhere. I didn't take any keepers passed the following year because I felt like the blue zkittles just watered it down and it was prone to herming.

AJ x Mac (frosty male)
SUPER vigorous seedlings. Outgrew every other cross grown that season. We popped 70 or so them, rats got a bunch of them so we ended up with 15 females. They were all nice.

Here is my keeper, Sour Mac #25. Named MAC-Murray after my late friend Xayne Macmurray who died the following year. Terps are very interesting, a cakey skunky strawberrybanana terp. Taste is like trix cereal and very very smooth smoke. I would love to see this grown indoor, these are 100% outdoor in the open air.

AJ (reverse) x GMO
Most phenos what you would expect from this cross. tall stretching gassy powerhouses. A couple phenos were super squat, but stretched nicely. The squat ones produced the sour/garlic profile that would be expected from the cross. I've got photos of some of the crosses.

SGC #1
Very similar to #2 in yeild and in terp profile but #1 is slightly more gg-4 leaning and is more whispy. see #2 description. Will be used to breed in f2.

SGC #2
Screenshot 20220219 084800

A piney flavor approaching gg4, but more acetone, and less of the salty meat. Super appetite enhancer, but it's the insatiable appetite that some may find uncomfortable. Great Yeilds. Most nuggets bag worthy. Being reversed and crossed into all f1 cuts that made the cut.

SGC#3
cookie profile with whispy grinch finger nuggets. Very potent, but lacking in yeild. Will be used to breed into the F2.

SGC #4
Insane whisp. low yeild. nothing special. smells like leafy generic outdoor. Tossed out.

SGC #5
Screenshot 20211128 062151

Typical sour structure and trichome style (small and sparkly). These are dense. Didn't get the full nose because I grabbed the top cut and brought it home and couldn't contain myself. I was chopping it into pieces to dry it and smoke it. It is definitely diesel and is definitely going into the f2 breeding program.

SGC #6
Screenshot 20220219 084814

Very unique profile. It's got the GMO garlic armpit funk mixed with cherry cola/cheerwine diesel terps and acetone undertones. It is heavenly and had people describe it as smelling like DMT. heavy yeild, moderate whisp (nuggets in photo have been vacuum sealed to tighten them up). Being reversed and thrown into everything that gets in.

SGC #7
Lemony gassy acetone. Very similar to lemon diesel if anyone has grown that, yet less of the GMO garlic funk than lemon diesel. moderate whisp moderate yeild. making the cut into f2 for the sake of terpene variety.

SGC #8
Screenshot 20211128 060503

Super dense and heavy yeilding vigorous monster. Nuggets absolutely sparkle. These outdoor nuggets have the indoor look. GMO profile on this one. Nuggets have the bulbous calyxs found on the AJ but the rock hard density and funk of the GMO. Being reversed and crossed into the lot.

SGC #9
Broken seedling stem, RIP. We will never know what could have been...

SGC #10
Squat plant. low yeild. similar profile to no.6 threw pollen sacks (super stressed and cold week 11). Not making cut.

SGC #11
damn near the exact same plant as number 10. Probably was for all I know. The old man holding the genetics had some labeling issues.

I would have flowered them all out myself and I had seed plants in 60 gallon pots but the beckworth fire burned up my grow and I had to bounce the genetics 4 hours south. The old man who was looking after them did his best, but these could have been way better.

I'll turn up pics of the AJ just gonna have to look through my laptop, might be a chore for this evening.
Look like some keepers... Nice work!
Have you talked to Darkheart about tissue culture?... I have a friend that does it, charges $3k for meristem with an NDA... I sent him all these old Chems and Sours.
Please do post up your old pics of the AJ you grew if and when you get the chance... I have not yet flowered the one I have.
