I do the same on my tents. Granted I own my own home and have finished grow room, but still I have never had to use outside vented fans and never had a scent issue. I too just use the roll up the lower air vents methods to draw air in, have 3 small clip on fans at various heights (inside tent). I understand that this method won't work for most folks. You got some great advice from some others.
Warmly,
Jackie

Ok I can open two vents on the sides where I’m not worried about light.

Get more out of Photos.

I can Top get Clones and put up netting get help if needed. Use long funnel to water with.

HMMM better using my head for more than a Hat Rack.

Now how many plants in a 4 X 4 Tent. I’m thinking at least 4 but maybe 5.

Started out with my wife today I told her if I Grow Photos I will have the Clones. She decided I need to Grow Autos so I won’t run out of Bud. Take my Clones put them in with my Autos until they are started good.

She has decided my New Dog is mine whatever I like he likes.

Six inch ducting, six feet long, black on the inside, held in an S shape with tape, poke that into one of your vent holes, the S is a light trap. 😉

I just mentioned to my wife I didn’t know how I was going to get to the back plants once I put the netting up.
Was thinking about your earlier post, if physical issues will present a problem reaching your plants I would skip the net, go with lst and make/get a big lazy susan so you can turn your plants easily.

Impossible to fuk up is actually a really sales model lol

I like that idea I was thinking a long funnel for watering but have them where I could turn all the better. I can trim them like I want and all.

Thanks! I think that will work.

In a 4x4, I think you could easily do 5 of the 5-7 gallon containers around the sides of the tent in sort of a horseshoe shape so you can still get in the center and work.

Seems like I’m old and my mind quit so I’m once again doing Autos and another guy is doing Photos.

I’m going with 6 Autos in my 4 X 4 Tent.

I did 4 autos my first grow. Never got big and everything accessible. 2nd grow I went photoperiod and veg'd 5 plants for a long time before flowering. (1.3 pound yield on that one, in soil).

A problem I had was getting to the back plants, which was made harder by having that 5th plant in the middle. I should note that I do have a tent that could be unzipped around two sides if necessary, so that might be an option for you too.

My latest (only 3rd) grow I went back to 4 plants simply to have more access through the middle. And that helped a lot, except now I have some irrigation pipes in the way.

I'm told you can get the same yield with 1 plant or 5 in a 4x4, using appropriate training techniques. I'm leaving out the 5th plant from now on. Four is enough for me.

yeah, i hit about the same total yield with two plants as i did with six in a 4x4. differences being one was a scrog run (two plants) and one was more traditional top and spread. biggest differentiator was even though the six plants were smaller, i yielded 99% usable product vs with the two i only ended up with like 3/4 lb smokeable product, everything else went to edibles. the six plant run came out to 1.8lbs (weighed post-dry, pre-cure).

the biggest thing is being able to get in and manage the individual plants. 16sqft isn't a lot of space to work with, and accessibility can be a huge issue with most tents since they all have three doors, but oftentimes you have to put the tent in the corner of a room, which completely eliminates access to one of those doors. it's problematic.

further, i prefer higher plant count as you can hit the same yield with one vs ten plants, but your veg time has to be shift to accommodate filling up the usable space effectively. i rather veg for a month and fill the tent than veg for five months and fill the tent before flip. to each their own.

personally i'll not do a scrog in a tent again. i'll use a net for support after a certain point, sure. but a scrog in most tent configurations completely eliminates pockets in the tent for maintainability which directly affects yield, and I'm not trying to grow a bunch of shit to make edibles with. running smaller LST plants that can be independently moved is ideal for someone with mobility issues imo. speaking from experience here, i have some serious back issues that if it's not easy, i don't do it anymore.

Well my Bosses have informed me next Grow is 6 Autos 5 gallon Fabric Pots, Happy Frog in 4 X 4 Tent.

My room stays about same temperature year round so same in the Tent.

My Son says he is going to do Photos . He has a room fixed up. I don’t know why he don’t use the room they had for Grow other than it might get too Hot.

I’ve decided if I’m growing Autos pack my Tent so 6 girls in 4 X 4.

I have 5 , 5 gallon fabric pots but decided to get 3 gallon fabric pots.

Thinking of buying another Tent. My Son is in need of a different Light. Should I get him one? He shares and helps me or should I say suffer kid I’m dealing with my own grow?

6 plants don't really pack a 4x4 tent, unless you are doing a lot of training. Hard to train autos, so I'm thinking it would be better to do 12 autos in 1 gallon pots in a 4x4 in a SOG.

My first grow last year was of autos. I tried two in 5 gallon fabric pots and two in 3 gallon fabric pots to see if there was a difference. And basically they didn't grow long enough to make a difference. The bigger pots were just more in the way than the smaller ones, and the plants looked the same from both.

By the way, here's a tip for fabric pots. If you want to do LST with plant ties, get yourself a standard handheld 3-hole punch, like you had in grammar school. Punch nice round holes every 2 inches around the top of the pot, and you will have perfect tie-down holes.

Got 3 gallon pots coming I’m only allowed 6.

We shall see I have 4 Girls wish all looked so good.

Make Edibles but smoke some.
