Can someone explain this? Earth worm castings

Been having some issues with my seedlings lately so I did a test, seedling on the left has worm castings amended into the soil and the one on the right does not. Clearly the castings are having an ill effect on the plants, can someone tell me why?

Seedling don't need the nutrients the castings are offering. So it's burning it?

i use 1/4 to 1/3 earth worm castings mixed with promix for my base soil never had this . what brand are you using

i have used 50/50 mix before , some say you can start seeds in worm castings with out any problems

Both look over watered-ewc holds water.

It's just a local brand of castings from a garden store, I have 30 percent perlite in both and I don't water until they are fully dry. Interesting, the cup with the worm castings is probably twice as heavy a few days after I water compared to the cup without.

this is true and little extra perlite is best

a. EWC isn't required for nutrients at this early stage...
b. EWC retains a lot of moisture, which may be the other issue.

In that case, would you even bother amending the soil and just use it for worm tea? What ratios would/do you use with worm castings?

Not sure but perhaps you are overwatering the 2 with EWC. I grow with EWC from seed to bud and don't see problems like you are experiencing.

I only see 2 and neither look well. 1 is just worse than the other.
