Total beginner here

Parfactworks RA1000, 2x2 tent. 5 gallons. 33% coco coir, 33% compost and 33% soil.

The only problem I see is I have a problem to keep humidity over 50% and temparature sometime reach around 29 celsius (it often drops around 40%).

I feel like maybe I underwater as im very careful with not overwatering....

Keep propping them up, as you've been doing.

Long, weak stems in seedlings happen when they don't have adequate light from the beginning, and they stretch, looking for light. Judging from the size of your leaves, I would guess the low light problem is solved.

When you water cloth pots, make sure all the soil gets wet — including the sides. The cloth side should be damp, too.

first, wow that was fast answering. thx!

im getting a bit worried here. My lights are clearly strong enough. Do you think theres something seriously wrong in my environment? how can 2 be showing week legs when my lights are clearly adequate?
Also, with my mix of soil, can I overwater? Ive been very careful not to overwater that im starting to think my plants are lacking water...

humidity at 35% is very bad at 26c, small wind blowing to strengthen stems.. probably blocked by raised edges of fiberpot.. u want 60% humidity, Minimum 70-75% is optimal around 80f

this morning, this was it: 35% and 29c.

as soon as ive seen this ive open the tent and now the temp is at 25c. I just decided to put a humidifier in the closet (my tent is in my closet).

I have one small fan blowing air around...

1- with my soil mix, is there a risk that I overwater? or the coco coir limits that? I want to make sure I dont underwater my seedlings...

Try to keep Temps and RH in the blue green ranges here close to 1.0kPa,

Interesting soil mix, never ran that ratio or coco but I would water by weighting it.. cheers

Over/under watering definitely possible. Large pots for such small plants, filled with an interesting mix that seems to lack aeration. I would add cover crop, then worms, then mulch.
Good luck

dammit.
I thought my mix was great in aeration. Ive read that coco coir could replace perlite... and I was sure 33% of perlite/coco coir would insure proper aeration...

Ive just added a humidifier in my closet so I guess ive solved the humidity issue.

That mix has good aeration if it's 33% coco.. just careful with the watering as roots won't grow into dry sub.. so the entire substrate needs to be watered appropriately (correct me if I'm wrong) I think this would be difficult to overwater but I haven't used that 33% mix

so you think its good enough aeration, others dont think?

as Ive been really careful with watering and it was clearly very dry all around, ive watered plenty. ive notice in 2 days all the water seem to evaporates which suggest decent aeration....

Ok... so fabric pots are tricky till you get them down. I see a circle of moisture, that is not what you want. You want the whole thing saturated, to runoff... you may need to put a tray under them and let it sit in the runoff till it stops taking it up. The soil may be hydrophobic, meaning will not absorb the water because it's gotten so dry, the water will run past the soil and out the sides and bottom making you think you've watered enough when you have not. I had this problem last year when I tried to use 15 gallon fabric pots outside. I was sure I was watering enough, my plants were not thriving, I cut a bag off and almost all the soil was bone dry. They dry out faster than traditional garden pots, meaning they need to be watered more often, a the low humidity and high temp in your tent is not helping that issue. Soak them in a tote or the bathtub if you must. Those are 5 gallon pots? They will likely take over a gallon each to saturate. Your higher percentage of coir will also up the amount of water required. The leaves look healthy, they don't look burnt to me. Weak stalks, possibly from an early stretch from not enough light. Get the watering sorted and get some air circulation to strengthen the stems. You can't rush growth, but improper watering will definitely slow it down.

ok, thx a lot for this.

5 gallons pot and the coco was well rinsed. that soil being hydrophobic make me phobic about my soil :). with my size pots, how often would you water my seedlings? and about how water volume?

after making the threads this morning, ive probably given a good liter in each pots and theres was no run off...

ive added a humidifier and im now at 60% in the tent and ill maintain that. I have one small fan so they get enough air. and I use a exhaust fan as well

Day 9:
my plants seem to be doing better. my bottom right plant that couldnt stand now can! Ive been very careful to make sure humidity stay between 50 and 80% RH.

yesterday, ive raised my lights a little as it seemed to show signs of too much light.

so, how does it look now?

Dry they look dry - coco does not replace perlite imo. Lol I would pick one medium and go - not sure why so many new growers are mixing soil and coco ? Totally different grow styles/needs
they do? the top is dry but quite humid just underneath.

I was mistaken in that I thought I could mix coco coir with soil. for some reason I thought coco coir was a exact replacement for perlite. as ive seen perlite+ soil, I was sure coco coir + soil was just as good. fingers crossed it still produce

Perlit adds much more substrate aeration as it doesnt hold much water to begin with.

When I get a high pop and my seedlings can't stand I take 2 bread ties, I burn the plastic off of 1 half of 1 tie, you will see a thin wire, leave the wire end alone and tie another tie to the first, stick the wire end in the dirt well away from seedling make a loup at very end of both ties connected, so now the wire is in the dirt away from seedling you have connected the 2 ties and made a loup, gently Pic up the seedling and tie the tie around it but leave room for seedling, in other words don't tie it tight, this will hold your seedling in place till it's stem hardens and it can now stand on its own, this works for me 100% of the time, in fact I have 2 seedlings that I have been bending back and forth a few times a day this is light lst-ing and will make the stem harden faster however I may have to tie down 2 bc they popped so high hopefully not but probably, remember you are tiieing 2 bread ties together then burning the plastic off 1 half of 1 tie understand???? Or u can take a straw cut a slit in it and use it like a little cast but the bread tie method works better, remember allways sow your germanated seed 1 half inch deep but depending on strain some will pop high this is a good thing as your plant will be tall just be very gentle if you still don't understand I will tie mine down and send u a Pic but as of now they can still stand on there own. Good luck!

Here you go friend the ties will hold the 2 seedlings in place till there stems harden, mine were not falling over yet but once they stretch out I think they will if not no harm no foul.
