i think someone just wants to know why his plants are stressed.

sometimes some varieties stress when others don't.

a) when moved from a lesser light to a big 1k
solution: keep your lights high up and move closer gradually in a weeks time they should be rockin.
b) small pots dry out to quick, killin sensitive root hairs
solution: bottom water with a tray until you can move into bigger pot
c) too much or too little food or ph is outta range
solution: get a good combo meter and quit guessin

I'm forever in 24hr/veg.

if you are getting stressed plants at a veg of 24 hours ,,

this COULD be the problem ,,

over heating ,,,,

drying out ,,,,

low humidity,,,

or Radiant heat waves generated by the lights .. or

AKA HOT SPOTS .

but i do not think it is the 24 hour veg time doing it,, and futher more ,, this guy hasen't posted back , the title is a lil offensive,,, IMHO i think this post was made to cause or start shit!!

id say the 1k 2 ft away is roastin your plants. we have a veg spot with a 1k MH, lamps 4ft or better away from the tops of the plants, and they grow great.

if your gonna keep the lamp that close ya need to really move the air around. also ya might need to cool the room, or put the lamp in a cooled hood or tube.

18/6 works well when gettin clones ready to go outside early spring. seems a plant will start to flower outside when usin 24hrs, then they reveg and flower again which wastes alot of grow time.

im with everyone on the 24hr schedule, dont think its killin plants.

I have been a Pro-Mix fan for 10 yrs. and thought it would be nice to water only. To be able to go away and not have to teach my helper about all those bottles I have. With the pro-mix maybe a top dress with some casting and guano and kelp before I leave would work. After a week of straight water they are flushed.

not to back smack this post .. but i have many reasons why i do not like hot soil .. i can give u just a few , sometimes my post make ppl mad!! lol i do not like pissing ppl off TOO MUCH ! lol I use to give all kinds of info on the boards ,, Now i try to keep my mouth shut ,,
u post summin ,, then u get pm's and bad rep points , ppl saying u full of shit and i just try to stay outa too much posting , i try to tell ppl to find out for themselves .I'll give reasons for growers and breeders !

ANYWAY reason why i hate HOT SOIL !! ((( FOR GROWERS ONLY )))) then we'll get to breeders.

1. enables growers to understand using and learning about nutrients . WE need to learn to feed the soil ,, and the soil feeds the plants .. 15 elements and 2 gasses are needed .

2. can give growers a false indication of the genes they grow , leads to bad grow reports ,, which in turn leads to bad smoke reports.

3. MAKES SOME PPL LAZY GROWERS!!!!!!! we need to be personal with the plants we grow , We need to be active in the rooms ,, we can not SET IT AND FORGET IT!!!

4. YOU CAN NOT AND WILL NOT give it all the food it is gonna need at the levels it need during different stages of growth ALL AT ONE TIME . and most time ppl give it, or think they giving it, the food it needs all life long as the plant is a newly rooted clone ready for vegin and flowering, plants use and need different amounts of food at different stages of life ,

now this is just the tip of the reason mound , i just pointed out just a few for growers !


THIS IS REASON FOR BREEDERS NOT TO USE SUPER SOIL !!!!!!!!!!!!

PRETTY MUCH AS SAME AS ABOVE but with added KICKER!

THE KICKER>> When u are trying to breed and using super soil !!!! like i said above plants need different levels of elements at different stages of life! And when u have too much of any of the 15 used ,, or too little,,,

YOUR CHANGING THE DNA
yes i said u are altering the DNA ,

Now think about that , u can never reach a goal as creating a stabilized hybrid when all your plants are changing the DNA codes , all your doing is creating a clusterfuck of mutated altered genes,

Also for breeders using Super soil ,,

as i said above ,, how can u test a plant or see it attributes when using such a soil ,, you can not look for certain things in plants if it is not growing like it should . we all see the effects of unferted plants and over ferted plants ,, we also see the results of ppl using bottle foods ,, or foods that are adjusted threw time,,
this brings us to another talk about osmotic pressure in the root zone for passive food and non passive food.
thats a whole nudder story!

I could really go on and on about this HOT SOIL ,,

Bottom line it is the easy way out ,, and NOTHING
COMES EASY ,, IF IT WAS WORTH THE TIME !

IMVHO ppl who use these soils should take a look at how plant foods can and will alter dna coding ,, Also have a look at the levels these plants use at different stages of life!

I used to veg at 18/6 cause everyone said that was close to a natural summer light cycle.An old grower told me to go 24/7 if I wanted bushier,healthier plants.Guess what? Old Phil knew what the fuck he was talking about.I now veg 24/7 under CFLs or a 400MH and have had NO problems.Your plants died for some other reason.Check light distance,dehydration or too much water.Excessive water leads to plant droop[wilt] cause you're drowning the plant.And if you've already made your mind up,why bother to ask?Phil used to say there's a time to smoke and burn and a time to listen and learn.

I have found over the decades that mother plants will produce much more vigorous clones when grown under perpetual light. Anyone doubting 24 hour lighting should go talk to a few outdoor growers I know in Alaska.

Ok. After reading all of your post I realized it must have been hard to hear the things we were saying about supersoil when you have a fresh batch that you went through a lot to get together.

What I don't understand is the name calling.
