Hi, hopefully someone can help with this:

I have two sativa plants (strawberry cough) by Dutch Passion. They are 9 weeks into flowering, big buds but very few trichromes. They grew tall and I think the heat from the lights stressed them out, resulting in poor trichrome development. The other 7 grew fine, lots of trichromes and are now harvested. I go on holiday in a week with no-one to look after them, my question is can I just leave the plant to die naturally (not in a tent, just in a room with natural light so that the trichromes will keep growing or will the buds rot if left on the plant with no water or sunshine, the plant will obviously die but I don't know if the buds will dry out or go mouldy (I go away for 20 days holiday). Or do I just have to kill the plant and harvest the buds before i go on holiday and hope they do the job? The plants were on a flush but should I give more nutrients this last week?

Thanks, I know this is a bit of a random question

It is more likely to just die than die and rot.

I would guess these two plants are just shitty phenos and the lack of trichs has nothing to do with stress.

thanks for reply. do you think I should leave them to die (hoping that more trichromes will grow) or harvest them before i go on holiday?

You've got nothing to lose by just harvesting now. It's not like it's going to miraculously get gorgeous tri's while you're gone. Chop, dry, cure, and try it. If it sucks toss it. I had one plant hardly develop any on my last run. Strongest high I've had in 15 years, lol.

From what I have read Strawberry Cough is a 9 to 10 week strain so it should be about ready, anyway. I'm going to lean with mysticepipedon and say it's likely a bad pheno since you said the other plants were fine..

Flushing is a whole other can of worms that can be debated till the cows come home - but personally I believe flushing is only beneficial to commercial grows who are trying to cut overhead costs as much as possible - I stopped flushing my plants YEARS ago and never had a single issue. Personally I think curing is way more important.

That said, unless your RH is really high, I would just leave the plants in the tent/grow room whatever you're using, with the lights off, until you get home. They should be just fine.

Enjoy your vacation! Oh, and Welcome to the Farm! šŸ¤

Hey, that is what I was hoping to hear! The RH is low in this room, so I'll leave them both growing in the dark until I get back home from the mountains. Thanks for this info, wll give you an update when I get back...

Much appreciated
