Depends on the spray. But you could get a bad taste. You're better off just letting them go. Might be some damaged leaves but you will still get some buds. Thanks, is it safe to spray the buds? For smoking purposes
Late now, but next outdoor grow you should begin a early regiment against caterpillars. Your buds look great but keep an eye out for tiny little caterpillars crawling on them. Earlier in the growth cycle moths probably laid eggs at night. Especially like in June. The caterpillars will hatch and wrap themselves up in leaves. They cause bud rot as they crawl through it and munch away leaving their poop behind. Spray Monterey BT or equivalent up until late veg / early flower as a preventative against them. BT is not a contact killer. The caterpillars half to eat it from the leaves. Once in flower you don’t spray buds. At least I don’t.Thanks, do the buds get bugs...they look fine and healthy so farView attachment 1262110
If I see any can I pick them off?Late now, but next outdoor grow you should begin a early regiment against caterpillars. I was thinking of spraying 3 in 1 on a Q tip or something and wiping the leaves. It be hard not to spray the buds by accident there are so many.Depends on the spray. But you could get a bad taste. You're better off just letting them go. Might be some damaged leaves but you will still get some buds.
Yes and you should. If I see any can I pick them off?
My strain in Golden Leaf but I think I might have some bugs.IMO some strains just look like that, the Chemdawg I'm currently growing is blotchy as can be & is in fine health.View attachment 1262162
Thanks, I've been told some different things. If you read the thread here I was told if it was mildew it would wipe off. It doest wipe off.Phil-
I wandered into this conversation just moments ago (now 7/16, 12:30pm). Saw the problem right off, I've seen it before in my own grow.
It's powdery mildew. Get rid of it w/spray of 1 tsp whole milk in a cup of water, top/bottom/sides, even the buds. Next day, spray with clear water, and resume life as usual.
Thanks, Yes I've heard many different things and as my first grow (4 plants) its frustrating getting so many contradicting advice. I didnt mean to offend anyone but as you mentioned filtering the what is BS and not is half the battle on this forum. I just don't want to F up the effort I put in so far as I have some pretty nice buds going. What I did do...and please reply if you think I messed up, is bought some 3 in 1 spray that takes care of bugs and fungus. Since I was told both. I didnt spray it on the plants but I sprayed some in a cup and used a artist paint brush and bushed on each leaf that was affected. I did that last night at dusk. Today they pretty much looked the same except the white stuff was pretty much spread thinner but more uniform on the leaf. Thanks for the reply and please let me know what you suggests after what I did. Did I possibly mess up?I neglected to add a bit of advice I offer newbies: Based on my experience (growing since 1972, out and in, under several light systems and with several nutrient systems): The hardest thing you'll have to deal with is filtering the gems of wisdom from the heaps of bullshit that folks want to shovel at you in response to any question that arises, and the characters who shout the loudest about theirs being THE ONLY right answer are the ones most full of it.
Thank you, and good day.
