from your experience do the burple lights make the leaves go a bit strange in colour as opposed to normal LED lights ?

Blurple is basically a distinct lack of green and white (full spectrum). The lack of green will change things a little, specifically that the green wavelengths penetrate deeper into the plant tissue and deeper into the canopy triggering photosynthesis you would not have with blurple. So yes, it will impact the color in that chlorophyll will be active deeper in the leaves.

The benefit to blurple is that during the end of flower, green has been shown to reduce THC. That is not meant to say go out and buy blurple, because you loose the added plant mass thru veg and early flower, making your yield lower. Finishing with Blurple could help tho.

The plants look almost like a fake plant from the blurple I might put the cfl back in

I've grown with blurples with no issue. Same yield and chronic as F***!
