We're about a week away from the 1st, and it looks like the 'back of summer broke' today. We got a nice rain, huge temprature drop... and the forcast is predicting progressively cooling tempratures. Hope it's the end of any more 110°+ days this year.

Got the 9 cuttings I'm keeping in the tent pruned up the rest of the way (finished lolly popping them), and 7 days will be plenty of time to recover from shock before flipping them to 12/12.

The 3 going outside moved to a place in the shop to veg under a 166w LED. Shop temps are about 10° cooler than outside, and about 40% more humid. Those don't get lollypopped, the sun penetrates lower branches just fine... but I'll do some defoliation after they finish transitioning outside and start to take off.

Everyone in the tent is looking good, and for this last week I'm going to keep the light @ 75% 10" away.

Got a bit of heat stress (and other minor stresses) in the plants going outside, but new growth is looking good.

It's been around 95°f/60% in the shop at the peak.

We've also been getting some rain, so ambient humidity has been between 40%-75%.

Meanwhile, in the tent...

We have a touch of light stress, so I dialed down to 65%, but again, all the new growth is doing well, and node spacing appears to be decent... but we'll have to wait and see.

The gnarled looking leaves are just leftover stresses from cloning, and are old growth... so keep that in mind if you're diagnosing them.

The tent VPD has been between 0.7-1.9, with the majority of the time (90%) spent between 0.9-1.1

Average temp has been in the low 80s with humidity ~70%.

Pruned some leaves on the tent cohort...

I'm taking the big fan leaves... from the base of the the top most branches.

The working theory is this will: 1) stunt these highest branches a bit.. allowing the lower branches to catch up, 2) allow more light penetration to the shorter branch leaves helping with catch up too.

Ideally, we want an even canopy, around 12" thick.

Transplanted the ones getting put out today... and the 1st is looking good for the day to put them out.

Amended that old soil with 4 tbsp of Gaia and 5 mil of the calmag per pot.

I mixed each pot's soil seperatly in a 5 gal bucket.

### Pro Tip: Fill your bigger pot with a few inches of soil, put a pot the size of your current pot in the bigger pot and fill it:

Next, pack the soil a bit (not too much), then pull out the small pot. This leaves you a perfect hole for your plant to drop right into:

The humidity in AZ has been crazy. In Phx I'm running my portable AC in dehum mode plus a small room dehumidifier. Every night the clouds roll in, humidity starts around 70 in my room the next morning, empty both dehums, get it down to 50 by night, empty both dehum, and the clouds roll in again. Repeat, lol. Been like this a couple weeks now.

Now, you're probably curious about what's happening in the tent...

And sure enough, this pretty little thing that worked so hard at getting all buxom, is a little short... so she gets put on a pedestal - Bell of the Ball style:

This was the only plant not lollypopped. It's secondary branches were almost all perfect height and this will bush out nice.

While we're checking her out, lets flip her over so we can lift her skirt and get a look at the underjungle:

Nice root development! We'll have her up on a poll doing her Shivic Dance for us in no time. :-D


Perfect time to repot, but our girls are getting the 1 gal geisha grow to keep em dainty. Smaller pot, smaller plant.

Normally I'd just check the drainage holes for root sign, but I know some people wanted to see what good root development at this stage looks like.

### Pro Tip: You can use looped zip ties to create a better air gap under a pot. It helps eliminate mold & bugs by allowing light run-off like this to dry quicker :

Now she's the same height as the rest and all our main cola forming branches are growing into the ideal 12" range.

Yep, my VPD at night has been hitting 0.75 kPa once in a while (mostly 0.8+). At 0.5 kPa, this is when molds and disease start to form and I would worry.

I find looking at the temp + humidity combo (VPD) to be more useful in managing environment. High humidity is ok so long as the temperature is warm.

Yeah, I've been trying to keeping leaf temps at around 79- 82 as it rises. 76 to 78 as it drops during the day. Luckily buds are just starting to form on them so I've a little more room for error for another week or so.

With a few days left before flipping to 12/12, I fed everyone a dose of General Hydro's trinity mix.

For soil, when I mix it, I make a 10 oz dose for each plant, and then I water the plant till I just barely get run off after feeding it.

To create the dose, I start by filling a picture with 120 oz water (x12 10 oz doses).

I have 12, 1 gal pots. They each take about 40 oz of water (x2 full 20 oz mason jars) to saturate them... sooo I am going to mix this "as if" they are "1/2 gals"... According to the label... for 6 gal total, during transition to bloom, I need 12 mil of each added to my 120 oz of water, starting with Micro.

The RO water pH is: ~6.8

That is my target pH so I don't have to adjust pH everytime I water... just when feeding:

6.79

Now I measure out 10 oz doses, and slowly water around the plant, focusing on the midway between the stalk and rim of the pot. To avoid making puddles that run off the sides, I go slow. Then I water till run off just barely starts.

I'll be feeding every 3-4 weeks at this point.

Lifted the light to 18", set power to 100% and flipped to 12/12.

The outsiders got camped under a palo verde tree with a couple of tomato and basil plants. These trees create an awesome light diffusion effect.

As we transition to flower, it seems a bit of a nutrient deficiency is presenting. The 2 plants starting to turn lime green need food:

So.... according to their guide...

Week #1 of Flower, for 6 gallons, is a total of...
Micro: 36.5 ml
Gro: 31.8 ml
Bloom: 40.8 ml

pH @ 6.75-6.85

Note: Each plant got ~40 oz. of that solution.

The VPD has been consistantly holding at the edges of the ideal range depending on time of day:

Day: 1.4-1.7 kPa
Night: 0.7-0.9 kPa

While not ideal, it is decent enough. My target is 1.25 kPa during flower but we have been getting lots of rain this last week and the massive humidity spikes & drops make it impossible for me to dial it in with my current setup.

Tent Humidity: 87% | 49% | 72.9%

(As an after thought, I should have waited just a bit longer to feed (a day or 2), when flowering signs were a bit stronger... it should be fine tho)

We are growing both outdoors and in an uninsulated, well ventilated, 20' × 10' × 17' shop.

Inside the shop we have:
- 2' × 4' × 7' veg tent
-- Lights: 1 generic 20w LED & 1 180w fluorescent light.
-- HVAC: 1 T6 AC Inf. Inline Fan + the exhaust from the tent.
- AC Infinity 4' × 4' × 7' Cloudline flowering tent (pro grow tents are sooo worth the $$)
-- Light: 1 480w Mars Hydro
-- HVAC: 2x AC Inf. T6 inline fans (intake& exhaust), and the VPD capable controler.

Shit I'm in Phoenix , it's alot of work in this climate man . I almost my harvest with the monsoons , I was about 5 days into a 2 week dry I came home from work to 77% humidity . I did however get the humidity back into the 60's and kick started the dry by hanging in my garage for two hours then back to my controlled tent to hang for another 4-5 days . I do dry in my tent usually at 65-68 ° with 50%- 60 % but Arizona is by far alot harder to grow than anywhere else .

Just a question, any particular reason for the PH at 6.75-6.85?
When i was in soil I always had issues if it was that high. Like the yellowing your getting because the plant couldn't get the nutrients it needed at that range. 6.5 was always the target.

The typical pH of the RO water is 6.8, I am looking to avoid adjusting it every time I water.

However, if the yellowing continues, I'll try shifting the pH. Thanks.
