I ran a DWC a year ago. Got root rot and failed miserably. I am running my second attempt. I’ve made changes based on recommendations last time.

I have a reservoir outside the tent. I have put tape around the buckets. I used up heat tape then just used gorilla tape.

I ran a feed line on the top of the buckets with a brass nipple that I put into the hats to water feeds directly in. I don’t know if it’s necessary but I am planning on putting gorilla tape over the top of the pvc just to eliminate light hitting the water as much as possible. I also have hydro guard I will be adding.

Right now I have seedlings in soil and I am looking to transfer them into the deep water culture. Should I rinse the water off of them and put them into Rockwall or should I just place them in the Peat Pods in the hydroton and let it wash away over time? They have one set of fan leaves. They are still very small.

I attached a video and am looking for any feedback and critiques. Thank you

After reading your last diary, I think you are on the right track now. I am running my first dwc grow now, i want to do more plants next run. I know i should fabricate some kind of RDWC setup like you made here... Kudos to you

Things are going well this time! The only thing I need to figure out is changing the water and the water in the buckets. I’ll have to shop vac the water out when I change the reservoir.

I am using an electric siphon to move water as it can be used in either direction.

Speaking of healthy roots, I'm so glad to go from struggling and learning about bad and good bacteria in hydro on my first grow to having beautiful roots like this without even trying
