It really is! My father in law calls it the garden of paradise lol... most of the veggies are done now except one late tomato, some carrots and potatoes, so all the attention goes to the ladies. Brewing them up a light cal/Mag and molasses cocktail right now with the bubbler, haven't done either yet this year so I figured a little morning drink before this hot day couldn't hurt.

Went to check on the ladies at location #2 this evening. Everyone got a light cal/Mag/molasses cocktail and a spray down w loast coast... I forgot to take pics before I sprayed and it was getting late, so that's why they're a bit droopy and slightly shiny. Notice my helper in the background having a swim in the frigid spring stream.

White Widow always does well in these parts, she's a bush. I removed probably 50 or so leaves tonight, old dying fans and any that were seriously munched on by grasshoppers or other various insects... you wouldn't know I removed anything from the pic. She's sticking to the usual white widow-ness and already growing crystals on her sugar leaves.

Blueberry (a clone) is doing OK I suppose, nothing spectacular, but she was quite small when she went in The ground, so I won't complain... I just find seed plants to be much more vigorous growers, in my experience anyway.

Zookies, pictured here with my helper that stopped for a photo op, is catching right up and healthy as an ox, she only got a splash of our cal/mag/ molasses cocktail, she wasn't really thirsty being so close to the stream and at the bottom of the hill, and also wasn't asking for anything... the others had a few brown spots on some older fans and a bit of fading, so they got a good drink, as they were dryer as well. Probably the only time I'll do the cal/Mag, I really don't like messing with it, I usually just use Epsom and egg shells, but the shells were late going on in the garden and haven't gone on at all in local #2, so I figured a dose wouldn't hurt.... and some molasses for my microbial friends.

You have an incredible green thumb. I can't wait until outdoor is legal here and I'm gonna hope my plants look this good.
Thanks! I love gardening of any kind, but have been seriously considering an indoor setup, because it would probably be less work lol... but I do like to be outdoors as much as possible, so I guess fighting off the critters and doting on my ladies gives me an excuse to play outside. 😊

Indoor is awesome but the freedom of outdoors and that natural sunlight is hard to beat, less factors you have to try and control (depending on your climate of course)

Yeah I love the sun, you can't beat the taste of outdoor in my opinion... but there are just so many pests, and mold is an issue in fall, and it's always a race with mother nature to finish... it's almost always frosted or snowed by mid to late October here.

Once you go indoors you will quit smoking outdoor imo it’s so much better in almost every way cept yield and cost , just my opinion

These are the reasons I chose indoor, I’m right up north at the boarder, I’d either have to do fast strains or auto i *usually* get a a big frost / freeze around October as well, last year though… 54f on Christmas Day 😂, but some frosts between October and then lol, so yeah that’s why I’m indoors next summer I’ll throw a couple autos in the backyard and shut down the tent till about mid July - august then fire it back up not a fan of fighting the tent heat, I dont have AC in my house I live in a big log construction home, so the cooler basement is all I can work with lol usually max out at 84-86f when it’s 90 outside but if that 90 stays for a few days the tent will get up to 92, it didn’t kill anything last grow but I’m sure my harvest woulda been better had I been able to control the temps better

I see it both ways too although I’ve never grown outside. A couple years ago I was researching THCv and learned there are outdoor stresses and some bugs that can actually bring it out. I imagine you could try to duplicate some of them like drought stress, but some you can’t. My takeaway was that it was similar to wine and certain years you have an amazing harvest because the stresses stack up in your favor. Some years the opposite happens. We see those help me threads 10:1 over the I’m smashing it threads like TSD because of the nature of the forum. I think it gives a stigma to growing outside if you only ever read the forum. I know I want to try it one day.

I’m in NE Massachusetts and have only grown outdoors for 15+ years. Yes there’s a lot of challenges (weather, bugs, mold) but I plant 5-7 plants knowing that 1-3 will have problems but the remaining 3-5 survivors yield 1-3 pounds dry of great tasting and great looking cannabis that allows me to make hash, edibles, and great tasting buds. Some examples from previous years.

I'm a taste/terpene gal, and I've honestly never had indoor that comes close to good outdoor in terms of flavor and smell. I put some of my stuff in my vape ( top notch storz and bickel dry herb vape) and it tastes like it smells in the jar... delicious... I put almost any indoor in there, and 99% of the time it's not even comparable... my hubs brought a few gs from the dispo for something new, as we've been smoking the same 5 strains from last fall for nigh on a year... they all look good, even smell decent... but taste like I licked a damp basement floor, or taste like nothing at all. Just can't compete with the sun in terms of taste. I'm sure a proper cure wouldimprovethat, I know the dispo weed is gettingtreatedwith the same love I show mine. Obviously yield Is a factor... I had a widow last year that gave me 2.5 pounds dry... not even counting the bottom quarter of larf that I chucked in the butter pile. I guess I won't know for sure until I do both ways myself right?

Nice grow diary you've got going here TSD. I enjoy reading through it.
Do you ever make hash with your larf and sugar leaves?

I really dig making it as part of my harvests, simply because I enjoy the process and I really do like the taste of hash.
I do mine with dry ice. Piece of cake.

Yeah... I'm 5 miles from the Canadian border... just under 45° latitude. I start inside in March/April and by October my ass is covering with plastic when it threatens to frost and performing amputations and executions due to damn botrytis... that's why I say it would be easier inside... oh and I have probably 30 plus species of flowers in my beds and various vegetables... so I usually attract every plant related pest that dwells in this climate, and some invasive ones too like goddamn Japanese beetles... I LOOOAAATHE them, aphids suck pretty hard too cause they multiply so damn fast (fun fact, they can reproduce sexuallly or asexually, they go from newborn to reproducing in about a week and every adult can make like 80 more in a week) and they're almost impossible to completely eradicate... they are so small and hide under the leaves in the veins of the leaves... oh and some species can fly too... yeah, hate them too. I have about 20 plants scattered throughout the garden to deter bugs too, lavender, rosemary, mints, basil, chamomile, oregano, cilantro, nasturtium... plus I preventative spray all through veg and usually more carefully in flower too. There's hundreds if not thousands of pests and pathogens outside, not to mention the possibility of some moron close by impregnating your ladies... had that happen last year, luckily only one was heavily seeded, rest in that spot had a few seeds. Much more control inside... but no flaming ball of hydrogen and helium...and that's what you really need. 🌞 I want a pimp ass fancy greenhouse, maybe with supplemental light... that's a good middle ground between indoor and outdoor.

Thanks! I have not yet, but it's on my list of things to attempt... I do a lot of edibles with butter, cooconut oil, honey... made a topical salve... and have done rso a couple times, and tincture. A friend has a mini washer for doing regular ice hash, he said I could use it. Dry ice is not available locally to me unfortunately. I was considering buying the fine filters and doing it that way too. Fun to experiment when you have so much popcorn bud and shake from dry trimming. SO. MUCH. Need to make room in the next two months, so some mad scientist shit will probably be going down.

@Moe.Red ... I'm smashing it currently, but I don't like to count my chickens before they hatch... or my buds before they dry. This was the easy season, shit can go sideways quick, fast and in a hurry during fall... I'm gonna need every bit of growing time I can get, especially with the 2 Hazes... just gotta keep it on the rails for 2 more months and I'm set for another year of stonering. I'm ok with some finishing faster... 2 people can only trim so fast lol.

I've heard this before that stress can bring out more trich's but the drying stress I give them costs me leaves every time. There must be a fine line between stress and death for the leaves. These fabric pots are causing me headaches drying out so fast and once they go dry everything hangs like they want to die. And that's just an over night dry out 2 days more at that point they'd be unrecoverable....

I tried fabric pots once outside and never again... unless they're buried as a couple of mine are... they are too much guess work for me, I just couldn't wrap my head around the watering with them and ended up underwatering for a solid 3 weeks till I said fuck this they look like hell, cut the pots off and threw them in holes... then they blew up.
