I have been attempting to grow for months but i have had 0 success. Each of my plants die because many things i did that i dont want to get into. Im starting to grow in solocups and im gonna flower them like that too. I just need someone to talk to who can give me some good advice that knows what theyre doing. Thank you

Solo cup is the way to difficult to start growing a good solo grow is difficult pick another direction

I highly suggest you don’t attempt this as a new grower who has been struggling. This forum is to help each other so why don’t you get into what’s been going on? Why solo cups? Is it bc you struggle with overwatering your plants in larger pots? We can’t really help ya if you don’t get into the issues you’ve been having over these past few months. If you outline your routine we can help you with wut went wrong and how to fix it going forward. Don’t give up!!! Once you pull it off once your gonna be hooked!!!

Welcome to the farm, there's lots of help here if you need it. Pics are a must and a good description of your growing attempts will help nail down the problems you're having. Good luck

Follow @Observationist if you want an intense solo cup challenge. Maybe that will have you rethinking your approach 😉

All seriousness though, welcome to the farm and hope we can help you out. I would agree with others, solo cup growing is very daunting if you’re not prepared. Constant watering by hand unless you have a good watering setup in place.

Hope to get some more details on your past issues and your future hopes ✌️

Solo cups are generally used for starter pots. Growing plants to harvest in them is more novelty than anything... except in the rare case of selecting traits of many different seeds, which I'd consider only a skillset for the experienced.
You will find much more success starting in small pots (or solo cups) and potting up to 3-5 gallon pots.

This is a perfect way to ensure you continue to have zero success growing.

But if you wanna give it a go anyway.. here is some help.

Cut holes in the bottom of the solo cups so water can drain well.. don't water them too much when they start out in the solo cups. You want to add small amounts, not huge cups of water at a time, when they are seedlings. Also keep the lights at a proper height and setting, and keep the room around 75-80f with plenty of good air flow.

As they grow up, and get to where they are about 12" tall, switch the lights to run 12 hours on and 12 hours off. Unless you are growing autoflowers then all of this is a moot point.

When they are in 12/12 lights, you will want to water them well and often. They will begin to drink faster than you can keep up, so a good trick is to both top water by pouring it into the solo cup as well as watering from the bottom. Place the solo cups into a plant tray or any container that does not have holes that will drain the water out.. add the water to the container or tray, add solo cups into it and the plants will soak up the water from the bottom. About 1-2" deep in the trays works best. Not too much, not so little that it doesnt even help is key.

Essentially let them grow and don't mess with them all the time. New growers constantly make the mistake of overthinking stuff.

When they reach the recommended grow time (8 weeks, etc.), harvest them and enjoy your first successful grow.

Most important.. don't give up. Growing is easy once you know how and understand things based on past mistakes you have made and lessons others have taught you.

Why do you suggest to not grow in solo cups? The problems ive been dealing with in the past arent a problem anymore because i know alot more then when i started. It all had to do with over/underwater, premature flipped to flower so i flipped back to veg. Ive had a few other problems but theyre not an issue anymore. I want to grow in solocups because my main problem revolved around being impactiant. So i jist want to flip to flower at a very young age, then grow like that. why would it be a problem growing in solocups? ive got the watering down

Imo, growing in solo cups is just going to give you less yields. Its all going to take the same exact amount of time to finish. You cant speed up the process just by changing the pot size.

If you're growing cannabis, this MUST change to be successful. Patience is key with growing.
I know, i really need patience. If this solo cup grow goes well ill probably start growing bigger. i also just dont fully understand how buds form.

You can skip veg tho. even just have on 12/12 from seed

By the time you flip to flower even starting from 12/12, the roots will completely fill the solo cup. When that happens you have to be dialed in on everything like hydro. That means a ton of knowledge/skill. If that's how you want to grow then you would be better off just doing hydro.

You sure can, but it usually causes stunted growth, small yields, and they still take about 4 months to finish from seed at 12/12. Imho i think you would be better off going with 2 or 3 gallon pots, a 4-5 week veg, and then flip.
I have like 30 plants rn i cant do much other then grow what im growing with the space i got. Ive been vegging my plants for about 2-3 weeks now, when theyre bigger im gonna flip.

You're gonna do what you are gonna do, but, i still stick with what i said before. 2-3 gallon pots, 4 to 5 week veg and flip.
