Hi everyone.

A couple of days ago I realised one of my girls developed a leaf in which the two main "middle prongs" out of the five (gotta learn some botanical terms asap!...) are kind of overlapping each other.
Almost like those two middle parts are competing with each other.

Yesterday, I noticed that the edges of that leaf are starting to show some kind of yellowing.

This is a White Widow plant (feminized, not automatic). Probably having some identity issues and trying to figure out if it's an Indica or a Sativa... ;-)

This picture from when I noticed the middle part of the leaf overlapping.
Freak leaf edge burn of some kind whats this

And this was a day later, the parts of the leaf that are touching each other seem to exhibit some kind of yellow spots.

Is this a potential problem?
Or did I inadvertently spilled some water over the leaf when the lights were on and got some kind of lens burn?

What would you do (take that leaf out? take that plant out of the tent? do some voodoo and praying? just let it be?)

Thanks.

what medium you growing in?
what light you using and how close?
what and how much you feeding?
light is a bit close and your not watering correctly..
but answer the questions first..

but answer the questions first..

Here it goes:

- grow is on day 20 (seeds germinated on the 1st Oct)
- White Widow photoperiodic feminized
- soil Canna Professional+ (sold as mildly-fertilized soil to allow for nutrition for the first 2 to 3 weeks until I have to add stuff, check link here)
- 1 gallon textile pots at the moment, a bit raised on the saucers
- lights are Lumatek LED Full Spectrum, 495W max power, running at 250W at this moment (50% power, roughly 330 µm/m2/s, measured a with a PAR meter on top of the canopy)
- lights are hanging 50cm / 20inches from the top of the canopy
- I've been watering with about 500ml ph'd water (no additions, just water, giving the soil is already fertilized for a few weeks) every other day.
- Sometimes I measure the runoff water from one of the plants (always the same one, when there is runoff) and in the last measurement I got a value of 2.8mS/cm (so, around 1300 to 1500 ppm, Hanna scale)

Many thanks!

ok well 500 ml every other day? NO..
you need to water to make sure all the medium gets wet and than let that dry out before soaking again..
if you plan on transplanting that when ready it’ll be a bitch with bags.. should use pots till last transplant into bag.. you may want to transplant those before it’s to late or just grow/finish in those bags..
but raise your lights 6-10 inches for now..
get your watering corrected..
you probably could starting adding nutrients in small amounts just use a veg nute that’s all as she is small..

Ok.
So... just to be sure. You're not contesting the amount the water, just the watering frequency?
So... water plenty, leave that thing all wet, get rid of the runoff a few minutes later, then water when it's dry (be it one or five days)?
Am I getting this right?

Actually, had to do it once, and was surprised on how easy it was. These textile bags can be rolled down like a condom, so it's really quick and easy to just strip them down and expose the root ball.

When you say "before it's too late", do you mean that these plants are outgrowing these pots?
Is now the time to make that transplant to a 3 gallon pot? (not contesting, just asking)

but raise your lights 6-10 inches for now..

Will do. Thanks.

get your watering corrected..

It's ph-corrected, but I'm guessing you mean the amount x frequency of watering.

I got these fertilizers here: https://www.terraaquatica.com/mineral-fertiliser-solutions/novamax-html/
You reckon I should start adding them now in small amounts?

One more question, if I may: when transplanting to a bigger pot, I'll have to put more soil in. Since this soil is already mildly fertilized, if I start adding stuff now won't I burn the plants or something?

That's it. Thanks!

yes to the watering, and yes to waiting how ever amount of days it takes to be dry..
i’ll be back, got to get garbage and recycling out..

ok, ya transplant when needed as your ok with it so disregard what i said about that..
the nutrients are good, organic and your in soil? so now what are you using for ph’ing?
i’d suggest when it comes times to transplanting quit using the ph stuff, you don’t need it and if it’s synthetic it’s killing your microbial life in your soil..
it’s contradictory to how your growing, not saying you can’t but i wouldn’t use it.,

Haven't started with the nutrients yet.
The soil manufacturer (Canna) says this specific soil (Professional+) is already mildly fertilized and good for 2 to 3 weeks.

Should I start adding nutrients already in spite of that?

so now what are you using for ph’ing?
I'm using something callled Biobizz PH Down. Is it good?

how long have the plants been in those bags?

bio ph? that’s organic i think but your still wasting your time with it.. it’s good for when using RO water etc..

Two weeks tomorrow. Planted them on those pots on the 8th October. So roughly two weeks.
yep i’d just feed a tiny bit like 2-3 ml per gallon of just veg..
no rush just at next watering

use that bio ph stuff till you transplant than i’d stop..
if something goes wrong you can always reintroduce it to the grow.,

know your temps and humidity for lights on/off?

ok so your growing with soil etc, don’t expect results overnight, give them a week at least hopefully one or two feedings/waterings by than.. and we’ll see what’s up.. don’t worry, don’t be touchy feely with them, just post a picture looking down at the canopy daily and anything you think i or we here should know..
in the meantime maybe research organic/soil growing etc things like that and join in on threads here on the farm, check out my latest grows, hahaha
all good brother anytime..

Temperature wise, I'd say min 22C (71F) and max 29C (85F).
Humidity never usually goes above 60%, as that is what I have set on the controller. So if RH goes 2% above that, it will turn on the exhaust fan to keep it down.

Same for temperatures: above 29C (85F) the in- and exhaust fans work simultaneously to lower it.
Should I set the maximum temperature lower?

The lowest of humidity I'm not sure, have to get one of those termohigrometers that save max and min values).
When I open the tent and work a bit on the plants, usually humidity goes down to 48% (but that's not what you've asked... sorry, don't have the lowest humidity value available).

ok the only issue there id say is the temp getting above 80.. is it bad? well yes and no..
i keep my grow with lights on anywhere between 74-79..
i’d keep it 80 or less humidity, now that the plant has grown some leaves id get it to 50-55, pretty much till the last month of flowering..
