So I have a friend attempting his first grow. I have some advice and he followed it step by step.
The only part he got wrong was instead of vegging at 18/6 he set his lights up for 16/8. 16 hrs of light under a 400W full spectrum LED and 8hrs of darkness.
They were regular seeds that someone gave him by the way. It’s been about 5 weeks and he sent me pics showing that 3 out of his original 4 plants were female. But I noticed they are in full flower. Like the little heads are forming already.
He swears that they’ve received 16/8 the entire time. I have no reason to doubt him.
The plants are not very big and in the pics he had just watered, so the leaves are drooping a bit.
Doesn’t it appear they are in full flower mode?
If so, what should he do next? Ideally he wanted to transplant now to bigger pots, veg a few more weeks and then flip to 12/12.
What gives??

Autoflowering variety.

Just keep doing what you're doing. Looks pretty healthy albeit a little overwatered.

Clearly they are auto's.

Clearly they are auto's.
That’s what you would think….but they’re not. The source of these seeds is a guy that’s grown outdoors for 40+ yrs. He doesn’t know what an auto is. They came from some of his regular photoperiod outdoor buds that got pollinated.

Outdoor they could have been pollenated from anyone around him

I'm ashamed to admit how long I tried to get that video to play in your first post 🤦‍♂️

I'm also thinking that either this is a sneaky autoflower that pollenated the mom, or the light is wrong - timer not working right or something like that.

Come on Moe tell us how long you clicked on it and what were you smoking?

This may not be an autoflower.

We veg at 18/6 because we know 18 light hours is a good bet to keep plants in veg, but only a few mostly sativa strains need a full 12 hours of darkness to flower. The rest need somewhere in the range of about 8 to 11 hours of darkness.

I convinced myself I would get more growth if I flowered with 13 hours of light, a few years ago, so for several grows, that's what I did. Not a single plant I grew failed to flower, and it was a variety of strains.

And as for my experiment with 13 hours? I took no data at all, so I have no idea if the plants gave a shit about the extra hour of light. I told them it would, but they rolled their eyes, the sassy little bitches. It stands to reason they'd have more growth, but you just can't reason with these creatures.
