Hello everybody I have been growing now for a couple of years I have been using fox farm soils which everything is fine but I’ve been reading about promix i see on Amazon there is like 5 different bags to chose from which one do I choose !? I’ve also read that I add 50% pro mix 25%ewc 25% perlite is this correct ? Looking to do new things and get more out of what I’m doing thank you in advance

Don't buy it from Amazon if you can help it. But most prefer the HP M. It's what I prefer, anyway. If you have local gardening/grow stores check there, prices have gone up but should still be cheaper than those prices. Amazon can be a little pricey on some growing materials, I've noticed. They want a lot more for ferts and such, too, than many of our local grow stores, garden centers/nurseries.

Definitely don’t pay amazon prices if you don’t HAVE to ! Shops around here are about $ 35 a bale and about an hour south they run specials 4/ & 100. I can’t believe amazon is charging that much !! I use the HP Myself

i like the both myself and use both either hp or bx.. the only difference between the two is the bx will still wet longer probably twice as long..
actually i’m using it now with the future 1’s and i seem to be watering every 4 days compared to last grow (future 1’s) i was using hp and watering every two days..

Thank you all for the replies also I’m guessing you have to “charge“ pro mix like coco ?? I’ve used coco before and did a jacks nutrient solution at 3/1/2 and Like 4ml of cal mag I believe per gallon and expanded the coco

Yeah I found it like 60% cheaper on other hydro websites my closest hydro store is like 55 miles away unfortunately

Dietrich you don't even have to charge coco if you get a good hydro brand from amazon. I usually buffered mine but after 21 plants I decided to go unbuffered and i'll never go back. But i'm in promix bx and gaia green. no pre charge needed. I learned the unbuffered coco from @Aqua Man . I love promix because I don't have to mix nutrients every single damn day. You top dress every 3-4 weeks and good to go .

I used canna coco brick, So how would I expand it the PROMIX ? Yeah I saw that ace hardware has the BX kind but they want like 200$ for shipping
I mean if your new don't mix the mediums together. Do one or the other. For coco I personally like to sterilize with boiling water and I use a sterlite bin fill it with coco and pour boiling water. Then I strain it because if you don't there's tiny coco fibers that can cause poor drainage. Then it's good to go. I use a colander.

I was saying that I’ve used coco once I loved it but raised my rh like 10% due to watering every day sometimes twice a day, I want to get the PROMIX HP do I need to expand that ?? And how ?
Also got a magazine the other day and they say advanced nutrients has a dry nutrient line I wonder if anyone has used that? I currently use jacks with some liquid supplements

Yes the base you would use is 50% promix. 25% earth worm castings 25% perlite. This is the promix BX recipe. so if u can get that. https://www.thcfarmer.com/threads/growing-with-gaia-green-shadeds-method.140538/

Okay so let me get this right.
order promix hp, ewc, perlite
i DO NOT have to expand the promix bale? How do I separate it
then mix 25%ewc / 25% perlite and thats my base soil
then im able to feed my jacks and other additives to the plant what is optimal ph?
like I said I’m in FFHF right now with ph at 6.4.I’ve read that promix needs to be like 6.2 so you guys see where I’m confused or am I just overthinking everything I tend to do that a lot

I do not ph mine at all. But i use dry amendments. you don't have to expand it. It's loose like fresh coco. Switch to dry amendments brother...or do you like mixing nutrients everyday?

do not ph with promix only if you plan on using synthetic nutrients., use organic nutrients and no need to ph.. and adding more perlite to hp, no add it to the bx if you want but not hp..
i use either one straight out of the bag. i use either botanicare liquid nutes or gaia green dry, i never ph anything..
