First thank you very much for the support i was given. My Autopilot XXL (Automatic) seeds sprouted 22/08, im growing in organic soil with org nutrients from bionova. Im currently in the 9 weeks deadline of the harvest according to the seedbank (ministry of cannabis). My question is, should i wait the colour of the pistils turn to orange, or is it normal for them to be mostly white now? should i wait one more week, or wait until they all (most) turn to orange ?

thank you very much,

You have got quite some time left. All pistils should turn brownish orange and receed into the bud, bracts will swell, trichomes will also change from clear to a cloudy/amber color. If you dont yet have a jewelers loupe, digital microscope or a clip macro lens for a smart phone, you should consider getting one of the 3. I prefer the clip on macro lens.

Is this 9 weeks from seed?

Like 97 said, quite some time. By the photos i would think four to five weeks yet. Don’t trust what it says on the package. Environment and methods play a big part in timing. I harvest at ~10% amber trichomes the rest are cloudy.

I usually harvest at about 9.5 weeks of 12/12 but those plants look like they need at least 3 weeks more

Yes they sprouted in 22 of august , so around 9 weeks total. My feeling was close to what u guys told me, not to follow the rules as we are talking about a living being, not a rock. Will try to get those lens, and will keep looking for the orange pistils. Thanks again for the feedback, u guys rock.
forgot to say, im in 20/4 in light/dark time, as this is an autoflower.

Its my first time growing, so just having a nice ride in this huge ocean. the grow has 3 plants in 4 gal pots, the back ones are Auto White Widow and Auto Bluebery Domina. The back ones had a longer period so i was expecting this, just got a little confused with the front one, which is the biggest and looking very tasty for me

I dont even use the breeder time as a baseline anymore. My plants usually aren't even close to ready by the time the breeder says they should be, they usually need another 3 to 5 weeks. Most of the autoflower varieties I've grown take on average 100-110 days from seed. Give or take a few. Ive had 1 auto out of the 50 or 60 ive grown finish in 10 weeks from seed but that was like my 2nd or 3rd grow so im doubting she was fully done.

Your plant looks really good tho, twist up a fatty, buckle in, and enjoy the ride. Shes got some time left yet.

You can see that the tips are just starting to turn orange. Like everyone else has said, you have several weeks left. If you harvest that plant now/too soon, your going to lose yield and potency. Those buds should get bigger than that, and trichrome production should increase as well.

Thank you for the advice! im really proud of this one, made lots of training with it.

I was finding very strange because my instincts said that it was not ready, as this is my first own grow but had some experience with friend's, i just wanted to get some second opinion so im not thinking by myself in this very complex subject, thanks again for all the advice

If that were a photo, I'd say it had 4 weeks to go, maybe 5.

Does any auto actually finish 9.5 weeks after planting? Don't you start the timer when it starts to flower, rather than when it sprouts? Do we have diplomatic relations with the Ministry of Cannabis?

Your plant looks great…..possibly a touch of nitrogen toxicity but that’s nothing to fret over.
You have a solid month to go, if you want the most out of your plant and truly ripe buds.
For heavens sake, please continue to feed her…..don’t eliminate Nitrogen but cut it way back. I would feed your normal bloom dosage amount for the next 2-3 weeks then curtail the dosage slightly as you get within 2 weeks or so of harvest.
Keep her fed and happy all the way to the end.
A little fading at the end is normal and expected but don’t starve her by flushing….it’s pointless and counterproductive.
Once all the white pistils have turned orange AND shriveled back into/against the calyces it’s about time and your in a good window for chopping.
Often there will be random white pistils that pop out after the buds are in the harvest window. I would ignore those……but by random I mean one or two pistils on the entire plant.
Good luck and nice job so far.
And one last thing: put as much effort and research into your dry and cure as you did the grow. If you dry the buds too fast you’re gonna be disappointed big time.

Thanks a lot for all the tips !! will consider everything said, will keep the feeding for around 3 weeks, or at least when i start to see those orange pistils all around. My idea was to leave around week to dry upside down the whole plant, and the cure i admit i need to make more research. dont have many big jars, but thats not hard to figure. thanks again

I would repeat what Goodshit97 said, Twist up a fatty and just enjoy the fact that you've raised this fantastic goodness all by yourself. Very fulfilling.

No doubt hanging the entire plant with only the large fan leaves clipped, is the best way to ensure the slowest dry possible….which is what you want.
Plus, many growers state that the overall terp levels or basic taste and smell is optimal when the plant is hung this way…..probably b/c it slows down the dry.
The one danger to doing it this way is the potential for mold. Having the buds all clumped together with lots of leaf and plant material touching is an easier scenario for mold to develop.
That said, if you can get close to 60/60 (60F AND 60% humidity) it greatly reduces the chances of mold and drying too fast.
Last item is air circulation….you want good airflow around the drying plant but not blowing directly at it. Usually a small fan gently circulating the air is perfect.
If you can manage to create a 60/60 environment, a plant hung whole should be able to hang for at least 10-11 days and possibly up to 14+, depending on the bud density and size.
At some point though, later in the dry, you’ll want to break the large buds down into smaller nuggets……that’s the only way you’re gonna get a consistent level of dry/moist with the buds.
Good luck and don’t be afraid to ask about the most minor details……details matter and asking is the quickest way to learn.

I hung a gg4 last fall, it was 9.5 ounces of dry buds and she took 17 days to dry. 60/60 with a small 4 inch fan. Now i split them in half of branch it out and get 10-12 days now. With everything dialed in now, drying is just hanging up the plants and walk away for a week, then check em out and walk away for another 4 days

Well, first things first, definitely back off the nitrogen, those leaves are wicked dark indicating a nitrogen toxicity, which could be your problem but im not entirely sure. Someone with more experience will jump in soon im sure.
