hey guys. So i wrote a previous thread not long ago about having deficiencies with organic growing and CO2 as i was seeing deficiencies during week 4 and 5. Im thinking to boost during those weeks with some mineral feeding but stil keeping organic top dressing and feeding every now and then. My question is if the mineral feeding wont lock the organic one. Will it become acostume to the mineral and ignore or not uptake the organic one. Can i have trouble there?

Why wouldn't you just increase the organic feed and feed earlier since you know you need it now?

week 4 or 5? sounds about right

i heard there is problems with C02 because as the plants needs more feeding, organic feeding dosent deliver the minerals right away even if you feed it more, takes some time until the minerals are avialable.

@Shaded_One what do you think? I feel like that sounds like bro science

I mean he's kind of on the right path but not sure why he's caught up on CO2. Light/temp/RH is the primary driver for a plants metabolism not CO2(although it does have an impact but we are talking about supplementing over a certain level). Organics do take time to break down and become available to the plant whereas synthetics are "instant" but that just means you have to be proactive and ensure you are feeding plants enough/react as soon as you start to see defs 🤙

I would think nutrients found in compost teas would be available quickly, maybe not as fast as synthetic, but faster then top dressing? Im not positive though, just my opinion.

Couldn't instead of top dressing for example every 4 weeks you give nutes instead you'd give it every 2 weeks. No Shade?

thanks... im seeing deficiencies when i raise the CO2 up to 800 ppm. one way or another,, even if i feed it enoguh organic and do compost teas and add microbs,, when i raise C02 levels the plant becomes more demanding (thats why im cought up with the CO2),, and it always seems as if its not getting 100% what it needs. Yes, as organic takes time to break down minerals are not available 100%, i mean im pretty happy with the results, im just trying to perfect my schedule. So i thought to boost 3,4, and 5th week with Athena every other watering but keep also with the organic feeding. My doubt is if the plant will stop eating organic and switch to just eating mineral, or if the mineral feeding will look out the organic one,, or it will be just fine and i will get more weight but still keep the organic taste.

100% do NOT mix synthetics with organics. Pick one and stick with it. Adding salts to your soil with organics will just cause you a shitstorm of problems you don't want to introduce! Are you certain that the deficiencies are related to the increase of CO2 and not the correlation to the increase of PPFD??

you mean my lights are too close? Also wanted to ask you if you think athena is organic as they say or sinthetic? could i mix athena with top dressings?

What I mean is there is a symbiotic effect going on here. As you increase light intensity you decrease the room for error with your feeding, environment and all of your other variables. In my experience the harder you drive your ppfd you better be optimizing feed and especially during flower.

Bugbee has a great analogy for this with a car. You can't just throw the biggest engine under your hood and expect the best results. You need everything else up to par in order to push the highest ppfd. I hope that makes sense.

ps general rule of thumb is if it comes out of a bottle it's not truly organic. Stick with the dry amendments Dr Earth's or Gaia.
