Please Help! All Of My New Growths Clawing!

My plants are about 2.5 months from sporut still vegging. Im in BAS recipe 3.0 and have only given it craft blend once. My vpd sits around 1.2 and i water just anout every 3 days. Im not sure whats going on here but pretty much all of my new growths are now curling…this is a new issue so im not sures what going on but really need help figuring it out! Any help would be great because im stumped! Have tried doing some foliar sprays with micronutrients but nothing seems to help :(

Thats what i had though originally too, but i measure my par reguarly. Right now my lights are on level 7 about 24 inches above reading between 500-600 par. Isnt that just fine for a plant thats almost 3 months old?

What exactly causes nitro toxicity? I had some slight clawing earlier in my grow bit it seemed to have fixed itself before this, my buddy had suggested that. Excuse my ignorance its my first run so im not exactly sure what could even cause that

To much N present in the media causes nitrogen toxicity. That can be caused either by the media was too hot to start with or whatever was used to amend the media or frequency of amending.

I dont think that is the case though. I used Build A Soil recipe 3.0 soil and only used a very small amount of the Build a Soil craft blend once. No other nutes. Just water and some wetting agent here and there! So thats why it confuses me that it could be N Tox.

So reduce your light intensity or raise them higher. You'll know within a day or so if you see the color going back to normal. Some of those tips won't recover, but the majority of the leaf will. If that doesn't help, then it's likely the nutrients.

I used the jay the plant speaker Quillaja Saponaria from Build a soil. I started in solo cups and transplanted straight into a 5 gallon, where shes been since!

Don't stress over it much. Your plants look overall healthy, so it's just figuring out where the issue is.

Also, when troubleshooting, you never want to start adding things unless you're certain that it's the issue. Instead, you want to start reducing things (i.e., light, nutrients, wind, etc), otherwise you're potentially adding things that you'll have to check and/or adding to the existing issue.

Thank you sir! Just definitley disheartening so see all the new growths clawing when shes been pushing so good! I was supposed to flip this week but now im pushing it back till this is figured out. And thanks for the advice, learning more evryday!

That’s definitely not enough water and too often but that’s just my opinion. You should be watering until you see minimal runoff and letting dry before watering again. If the pots aren’t drying out enough it could be a root problem causing this

Agreed.

It looks like you’re in fabric pots. You can dump a gallon in there and not overwater (just pour slowly and only do a portion at a time, giving a few minutes for the water to get absorbed).

You can also get a soil tester to test the wetness down to the bottom of the pot.

Just know that fabric pots will leak quickly and easily from the sides, giving you a false impression that there’s enough water in there. You need the run off coming out the bottom.

Definitely. I actually switched from fabric pots to poly bags for that exact reason and also I don’t like how they get build up and possible mold from the build up on the outside of the fabric pots. plus they are a little harder to transplant and I can just rip the poly bags. I do use a hard potting container/5gal bucket for flowering since I won’t be transplanting anymore.

How often do you water? I had read that 5-10% of pot capacity is ideal, hence a quarter gallon for a 5 gall pot. I let them go 4 days without a wtaer recently and it was def pushing it as some of the leaves were severly drooping. Perked right back up after watering. I also always put my knuckle in and make sure the top inch or 2 is dry before.
