The bottom line for me is, as a former cigarette smoker/weed grower, I always wished I could grow weed that had the same burning qualities as a quality cigarette tobacco. Slow burning but with good heat retention so it stays lit, complete combustion with fluffy light grey ashes even in tightly rolled joints, smooth smoke that isnt at all harsh on the throat or lungs. While at the same time maximizing plant health and productivity. Finishing with Magnesium after just tapering down the nutrients based on the runoff numbers achieved that for the first time.
I really like that Epsom Salts tip at the end. Flushing to me has always meant back to back watering but now that I've seen that most of my plants take longer than 8 weeks to finish back to back watering leaves them depleted more than I'd like so I'm feeding longer and I've been influenced by the crowd here that flushing isn't necessary.
I used to use scissors to chop my weed or pluck it apart by hand, old school I don't need no stinking grinder....well 50 years later I bought a grinder and I couldn't believe how finely ground it got after using it. I rolled one and smoked it and no running down one side and it smoke like a cigarette...
I strain my wrists now with the hand held so I upgraded to electric...
Flush or no flush with my smoke I think burning well is a result of the cut of the weed and how dry it is.
I also kinda like my joint going out on me when I'm not puffing on it, those are some good joints that I have to light 2-3 times beause I got lost in my high, reading typing or day dreaming lol.....Safety joints ........I swear I had a half hour joint the other day, one of my 4" long paper joints, it can last 5-10 min.....or.....30 min... if you soke it right, time just flew by and I still had a smoke in hand....lol
