If I had a way to actually test it, I'd give it a shot. It doesn't look like a tough build at all, and looks like a few 45 degree angles to make those channels (and maybe a pair of angles that are sharper to keep the chaff from flying back into the seed channel).

Unfortunately I don't own a shop vac, or have enough seeds/weed to give it a thorough test.

Cant help ya on the build but that thing is pretty sweet.

Definitely time consuming going through thousand or so seeds that’s for sure.
Looks interesting to get that debris separate.
