We all have different reasons why we grow. This is a strong ass one of them for me - what made you grow??

BTW - that tax is on 3g of concentrate

I just love the line item that assesses a $55 TAX because the weed tested above 35%. Government weed...it'll bankrupt you in Massachusetts - one ounce of top shelf costs $528 up there, including tax. You watch, pretty soon legal states will start to ban home growing, just like NJ did.

lol ban home grown? you mean make it illegal again...lol...... fking governments just don't get it. If it wasn't for it being illegal all this time it wouldn't have become so powerful. It would have stayed an outdoor crop with limited genetics.....putting it underground let the wizz kids play un seen and have developed supper weed because of it.....We'd still be smoking 12- 15% weed if Gov had kept their fingers out of the pot....lol

It will come down. A couple of years ago, an eighth of top shelf was $60 in the Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti area. Now most is $35 an eighth, but you can get ounce deals for under $100 sometimes.

The "shelf" doesn't seen to matter anymore. There are high %THC selections that are pretty cheap.

I grow for reasons mentioned in many different posts.

1. My weed always tastes, smells and smokes better.
2. Racy, crazy-headed, energizing weed is rarely available.

I assume the racy stuff I love just takes too long to grow for commercial growers, because when I see it on the online menus, it disappears fast. And most people aren't pot snobs, like most of us are.

I do love indiana spent alot of time there living in Southern michagin.thier marijuana laws are horrible though.they need to get with the program.chain o lakes state park in Northern Indiana is were I collect alot of my microorganisms, and wild plants for my fermented fertilizers. Love it there beautiful spot.the fishing is off the hook.just hate being sneaky about weed. My motivation for growing is getting a quality of weed you can't buy at the dispensary. Most of the time with them it cooperate greed shity weed.
Used to live not too far from that chain drove thru there last time I was home - I went to jail (asa trustee) for a week for a frisbee with seeds on it up there in northern Indiana

I was going to The Patient Station for a while, before a couple of plants finished. They had a nice (nice for dispensary weed) sativa dom for about a month, called Tropicana Banana. I should look into it and see if seeds are available.

They can try.
Washington State doesn't allow home grown weed without a license. All weed sold has to be grown in the state. I'm pretty sure those two parts of the law mean they wanted to keep business and jobs in the state. The last time I checked, there were more than 2,700 licensed commercial growers in the state.

This cost $33.

I have 2 reasons that motivate me for growing.

The first is to save money on weed. I smoke an ounce a week (about an 8th a day), so that can easily run me $1000 a month.

My first grow saved me over $1200, and out of that $1200, $800ish was used to build both tents. So the first grow paid for itself and then some. This grow, if I get another successful harvest, should set me up to be entirely self sufficient.

Reason 2: I started getting heavily interested in gardening at the end of summer. I figure if I can successfully grow weed to harvest and cure, I should be able to grow some veggies without much issues.

And I thought of a third reason: I love tinkering with things, so building a grow room, tweaking it, upgrading things, etc just helps put my overactive mind at ease.
You can grow the veggies in tents as well I’m getting an additional 4x8 just for that reason, already have 8” tall tomato and pepper plants as well as some lettuce 😁 getting everything set up so next winter we’ll have fresh veggies all winter once we strip the garden outside and can everything

Just gunna throw my 2x old king LED 1500’s in there and let them roll lol

Your third reason is one of my favorite reasons. I can go down to the tents and water… check them out really good, and it calms me a ton, I can sit in there for hours lol

And who dosent like saving money 😁 I also won’t smoke dispo weed, I gave myself a standard when I started smoking again, I won’t smoke it if I didn’t grow it (unless it’s someone I know that grew it) I went my whole first grow not smoking until I had my first buds cured for at least a week before I started digging in lol

You sure can! I have lettuce and onions growing in both of my tents now. I also sprouted 30ish pepper plants in there as well, but had to take them out as the light was starting to burn them. They’re doing nicely in my spare bedroom though!

I had carrots and radishes in my 2x4 during my first grow, but they got overshadowed quickly so I put them in my greenhouse to finish (at least the best they could for New England November / December).

I’m actually debating on turning this entire spare room into an indoor herb garden.

I could probably fit an 8x4 somewhere, or snag another 4x4 and just get a cheap $50 Amazon grow light for an upstairs grow.

Damn, now you got me wanting to spend more money 🤣

Yep haha cheap Zazzy brand 4x8 is $135 on Amazon atm about to snag one, no cares about light leaks so no need for a high end tent.

These plants are in 1/2 gallon pots now, I’ll add in flats soon, probably those 6” deep rubbermaids and I’ll fill those with 5” of soil and plant radishes etc, and get some deep totes for the carrots etc, planning on some of those wall hanging planters that look like the shoe holders for the backs of doors, and I’ll fill the slots with herbs etc

The main garden is… large lol this was last summer, those are daily harvests on the counter lol

Zazzy! I just snagged a 2x4 to use as a drying tent since I didn't want to stop growing in either of my other 2 lol.

And that's quite a harvest!

Now I'm debating if I need a tent if I decide to use my spare room or not since it's a south facing room. I get sun in there pretty much all day. I could get a few lights and just have it on for extra lighting during the day (or for the shorter winter days) if necessary.

Actually, come to think of it, I probably should get a tent. I seem to get a fair amount of those stink bugs each year, no matter wtf I do, and I'd be really annoyed finding their eggs on my food plants. Though maybe there's a few flowers I could plant that would keep them away. Guess I'll be doing some research tonight.
