This clone i have that was rooted and potted in the first week of February is, as expected, way bigger than my two seedlings. originally i had two clones but i destroyed the roots of one clone when i first potted her. I didnt want only one plant, so i started germinating 3 seed about 1-2 weeks after potting the clone.

the two younger plants you will see below had a taproot and were planted in 3 days, the third(no picture provided) however needed an extra week. I also was using water from a water softener which caused a nute lock in my seedlings turning leaves yellow, but the clone took it like a champ and continued to grow with no signs of sickness. This caused my seeds to fall even further behind, especially the 3rd seedling which is now under a separate 100watt led outside the tent. (I blocked as much light as possible, tent is pitch black with all lights off, besides the 100 watt light)

I plan to flip to flower tmw, i actually wanted to do it today, but maybe i could get some insight on making this shorter before it stretches in flower. Super afraid she wont fit at the worst and at best will have bleaching.

Let me know what you all think!

Light : mars hydro 450w, have it at about <30% right now and 15 inches from clone, and 28in from my seeds.

Climate:
Day : 76-79f with 50% - 55% RH
Night 67-69f with 55% - 65%RH
(Just got a dehumidifier today to help maintain RH during flower.
Medium : coco coir (turpur royal gold)

Nutes : flora flex v1 and v2
.8grams of each per 1 gallon of water for two older seedlings
1.8-2grams per gallon of water for clone
(Flora flex recomends 1-2grams per gallon of water)

Water/ph:
Temp- ≈69
Before nutes - 2/5ths water softener, 3/5s RO water
After nutes and PH down - 5.8

All Plants are photoperiod and feminized

The clone in the back - Black Lime Reserve

I had to use homedepot bucket to allow the seeds i planted to get some light. Also i realize that the loght is very close to the clone, but to be honest i prefer to have the 2 seeds get optimal light than not.

Wow I ran into this problem with blue dream 🤣 I topped it and tied it down as much as possible to keep a even canopy.
Sheesh, well then i have alot of work to do.
Damn those look good with the training you did. This is my first grow so i was a bit scared with doing major lst, i broke one of my stems on the amnesia fast if you cant tell lol. Seems like ill have alot of work to do to the clone. Lol

With larger plants, you might want to use high stress training (HST) rather than LST. First, squeeze the stem where you intend to bend it, until it is more or less crushed. Some people give it a light twist. Then tie it so that it is at a 90 degree angle to the stem (it will straighten up, or attempt to, unless you tie it down).

Cannabis plants can deal with physical damage quite well.

Damn, i knew i shouldve, i just kept laying it off trying to fogure out an alternative because ive never done HST before.

I could give it a try, but now at this point if i am flipping from 18/6 to 12/12 tonight would it be worth doing some HST to let the others catch up a little? Or should i just let her go and flip it and try to LST as much as possible?

I am new so correct if I am wrong, but i dont want to stress my plant as ai flip it into flower. So if i were to HST, i would need a few more days?

Hey, check out a 10
min YT vid with Kyle Kushman Chiropractics....after that treatment you can bend them over as far as you want without breaking the stems. Its an odd thing to do but it works very well and I'm doing it to all my plants to help keep them short

I’ll definitely check it out! I watched a few of his videos when i first germinated !

I am not going to lie in veg I am pretty hard on my plants. I am a by any means necessary type of person.
Yeah next time around im going balls to the wall with LST and HST lmao

Net it down as much as you can so that your stretch happens across the net if you have the horizontal room in your tent. Either way, this'll buy you some headroom in the tent when you lower the canopy by netting it.

Good idea, set up a trelis yesterday and was gonna let it grow into it. Good point to let it help support the plant now and kill two birds with one stone so to speak.

Got a quick one regarding clones and height. I'm running my first clones, it rooted well but the bottom part of the plants looks awful. Should I bury it halfway down (leaving just top node out) or is it ok to keep her growing as it is?

(Disclaimer: I am not an indoor person)

Let’s see your net. You should be able to flatten the heck out of that lanky plant. I’d put a screen at the height of the two normal plants and force the tall one under it.

It’s a bit late in the game to be hst-ing but that’s what you coulda woulda shoulda done. Branches and stems bend easy when young but then get tougher.

Next time m, Top at x nodes, keep that sh!t tied out horizontal. You can’t just take a canna plant that wants to be a 12’ tree and tell it to live in a tent.

It’s fixin to stretch. Probably a lot if it’s already lanky. I dunno

You’ll be surprised how hard you can manipulate the plant.

I'd suggest you just trim off the ugly and let her grow.
