I have never grown before and I don’t know what this seed is! I found it in a bud. It seems to be growing with no problem but I feel like something isn’t right! Maybe the stem isn’t thick enough? Does anyone have any advice or thoughts at all to help me! I have a cheap light and use fox farm soil

You need a better light. The stem is stretching for the light because their isn't enough of it.

And I'm pretty sure fox farm soil has nutrients in it from the start and that is what is probably causing your lower leaves to twist and look burnt/dried. Seedlings and young plants grow much better when they are started in a medium that has little to no nutrients. Let them grow for a couple weeks and then start adding nutrients in with your water

That last picture, the leaf on the left. those little thread hair worm things. they're some kind of fungus gnat larvae and will destroy my plants.

I've been cleaning anything like that off with either some water with tea tree oil, or some hydrogen peroxide in the spray.
I feel a little paranoid, but this flu crap has been a huge outbreak in these weird hair worms.

Anyways, get started on your Pest Management plans now. It's easier to prevent than to treat.

Don’t worry about the stem base, it’ll thicken as she grows.

I like captain jacks dead bug I use it during veg especially early to kill anything off, also I use about 1/4 cup of DE per 5 gallon bucket at each up pot, and sometimes I’ll throw in 2-3 tablespoons into some soil and top dress it, since I started with the DE I’ve had no gnats anymore, had a few thrips that the deadbug killed with 2 applications with no recurrence preventative is 100x easier than treatment that’s for sure!

I’ve used peroxide and water for full runs but they just barely control issues, still had to do continuous applications. I won’t use deadbug in flower though that is when I switch to 25% water and 75% peroxide (standard 3% peroxide)

Are you sure those are little worms??
Don't think the pic is good enough to identify, those could just be tiny hairs on the leaf

Yes I am sure... they are NOT part of the plant. They are some kind of parasite that eats stuff. I gave a couple clones to my friend, and his house is a mess. The bottom branches had like a dozen of those little things, poking off every node. Yeah. these mites basically wrap onto a hair, then spin some spiderweb crap.... and all kinds of crazy stuff associated with different species. I feel like I was naive to all this stuff for a long time, until I started growing, and watched my babies get chewed up and fade away from some systematic looking things. I also had powder mildew last year that ruined half my garden. Diotomacous Earth has been great in the soil. Neem oil on the leaves. Tea Tree oil in the spray bottle water.

Let the soil dry out before you water again,
Let it do her thing for now till it shows sex.
Give some more info on your light and environment it’s growing in:)
Thank you for your response! I am using a small LED light I got off Amazon, attached is the description. Not knowing what this seed was I didn’t want to buy an expensive light and they don’t market them well! If you have any light recommendations, I’d greatly appreciate:). I keep it inside, with no heater or anything, there’s only one plant and i turn the light off for about 4 hours a day (not consistent with timing or anything). I water with a spray bottle anytime it looks like it’s drying out.

Thank you for this!!! I appreciate it, could this be too harsh/damage the plant at all?

Oh nooo!!! Do you know if these parasite/bug/worms would be visible besides what you mentioned in the picture? My house is very clean and I don’t see any flies or bugs or anything, but maybe they aren’t visible to the eye?

Diatomaceous earth, mix in with soil, kill the bugs before they hatch, the peroxide and water mixture is something I use foliar (if needed) it will control PM to an extent, helped me finish a Grow without too much loss

Captain jacks deadbug is a spray and damn does it work I had thrips, 2 applications, gone haven’t seen one since

You can see the silverey marks in the tops of the leaves from the damage they cause in the bottom, I’ve been watching nine have been found again but I’ll spray down again soon for reassurance haha, and here’s a couple on a leaf bottom for reference

I won’t spray anything besides the peroxide / water in flower

Idk if those are parasites.

1. need a good light
2. Need to water correctly. Throw away the spray bottle. Wait for your soil to dry like Diesel said then water it until a few drops drip out of the bottom. and lift it up and feel how it heavy it is. Now you wait until the pot gets light again and repeat.

WTF hahaha
Bonide products are usually pretty good however their products were not designed with cannabis in mind so there are some you wouldn't want to use on cannabis ... like InFuse. It's a systemic fungicide that's not suitable for products you smoke.

Captain Jacks sounds like one that is OMRI approved.

Interesting okay! I’ll do that for watering. Obviously it depends but do you know approx how often I should be watering? Like once a day? A couple times a week?

DE also is very effective as a top dressing in controlling anything that tries to crawl through or out of you soil mix. Its great stuff actually
