That deformation is caused by something called tobacco mosaic virus, it stunts growth, but a lot of the time it will grow out, if the virility isn’t to bad. I just learned about this the other day from gnick55. It’ll still flower and do everything right, at least mine did. So I would attribute the slow growth to that, not what you are doing.

What you can do about it?
Not a whole lot, just keep growing it tho, once it hits full swing in veg, it should grow right through it if that leaf is the only one showing deformations you may be dodging the bullet. I wouldn’t worry too much about it, I was just saying it’s most likely the reason it’s growing slow.

it could be only a extreme PH drift tho, nothing to worry about, looking at it i don't see any other signs it really is TMV.
She's gonna be ok :-)
Some cultivars are really slow veggers tho.
cheers

I hear ya, but it sure looks like it, some cases are small, it’ll grow out. It’s always hard to diagnose these things from a pic. Can’t tell if any new growth is showing deformed leaves or what. I just try to offer up decent info. If it was extreme ph swings the plants wouldn’t the plant be showing other things besides just a wacky leaf? I mean I’m no expert on tmv. All the plants I had that showed it, grew fine once it got passed those sets of leaves, some plants I’ve had that were like the comic book character two face and it still yielded well. I’m just suggesting it’s the reason for the slow growth.

it could very well be! TMV is a weirdo virus that has many "faces" lol some more classic than others.
Sometimes PH swings does that and doesn't affect much else. I've seen it before.
