I was advised that I could start putting my plant outside and now one of the leaves is brownish and drooping. It’s also leaving to one side more.

Is there anything I can do? Should it be in light or dark to recover? Is it doomed?

I was also told to do topping so I trimmed the top yesterday and then this leave happened today. But it happened after being outside so I’m not sure it was from the topping.

What do I do:(

Did you water the plant last month?
I watered two days ago after 9 days of no water. It definitely must be from being outside in the heat and the temperature change

The new growth looks good. The damage appears to be on one side of the plant. Why are you moving in/outside? What kind of light is that? It looks like something happened to those leaves more than a fundamental problem.....

I moved it outside for a short period to start transitioning it to be outdoors. Is that bad? It’s a crappy light from Amazon, I only have one plant and found the seed in my bud I have no experience so I didn’t want to invest in an expensive light. Do you have any recommendations for light? It’s relieving to hear it’s likely not a fundamental issue!

Transitioning is fine, maybe plant it on a cloudy day or 2........even if the sun was a little much at first, you have a whole season of new growth ahead. It almost looks like those leaves got hit/damaged.....nibbled on by an animal.......it's hard to say what actually happened.

Is it an LED? A grow light? Or a desk lamp? Hot bulbs can certainly burn leaves. I don't know why you topped it.......I get that a friend told you to, but most problems arise from us doing too much, too many things. For the most part, cutting and pruning shouldn't be done if you don't have a good reason to do it.

Transplant carefully, gentle with the roots, it may very well pause for a few days but will eventually start growing faster,......provided your soil is good, you give it adequate water but don't drown it, plenty of sunshine......and let it do its thing....if you don't see any further problems, let us know in a week or two how it's doing....

I see some downward curling of many leaves. That is an indicator of nitrogen toxicity--too much nitrogen. What kind of nutrients are you using?

I don’t add any nutrients but I started the plant off with fox farm happy frog soil and I know that has a lot of nutrients. Is there other reasons for downward curling?

Thank you so much for your help!! I appreciate it more than you know:)

Attached is the grow light I have, I regret topping it so much I won’t do it again.

The damaged leave that looks like a bite by an animal was the first leaf of the seedling, I was so worried but all the leaves after grew okay.

It’s more the browned, drooping leave I’m concerned about.

I’m definitely going to let it be for a few days and not cause any more stress. Does it look like it needs to be repotted/transplanted yet?

Happy Frog doesn't have a lot of nutrients. At least, not compared to Fox Farms Ocean Forest.

Is there other reasons for downward curling?
Sure, there are. I sometimes see some leaves curling after watering, but it doesn't last long. Aside from that, I'm wondering if the plant was exposed to cold temperatures.

Also, I doubt that light will work well for cannabis.

Unless there's something wrong with your outdoor soil.....probably not, but anything is possible, I would transplant it outside as you're comfortable.

This plant is way under potted. Transplant time.

Mix 1/2 cup of bone meal in enough potting soil to fill a 5 gallon bucket.
Water well. Transplant.

Put it outside in dappled light. Full sun for a couple of hours in the morning. shade mid day and sun late in the day for 2 weeks.
Feed it a flowering mix like 5-15-5 once a week twice.

Then full sun.
Feel a high nitrogen fertilizer like 12-6-6 1/2 strength and a little Ca-mag for veg. Then when it begins flowering switch back to the flowering mix.
and a little Cal mag until finished.

Ultimately your light is a way of delivering energy into the plant
If it can handle as low of energy as to be connected to power via USB, its too weak
pay attention to Watts
