Hello,
I grew a plant inside a 2x2 tent and everything was looking great. Nice buds with cool-looking trichomes and everything. The leaves were starting to dry up as mentioned here so I pulled a lower bud for someone to try and there was no effect. I noticed that there was not much smell except when I watered the plant, then it would smell like pot for a few days in the room then the smell would go away. I have since cut and hung the plant for approx 8 days and after that, a friend tried to smoke some and the bud had very little effect.
I have grown a little here and this is the worst result I've had. On the other side, the bud looked great.
Thanks for your assistance.

The buds need to dry and cure to taste good and have all the good high effects. Also, I believe you pulled these 3-4 weeks too early. Those hairs should be brown and tricones cloudy and amber colored.. It is common for a plants needs to change and sometimes leaves change color. Usually nutrients and/or watering schedule can fix the yellowing leaves.

I did pull the plants about four weeks after this picture, but thank you.

This picture is about 4 weeks before I pulled the plant.

Could still have been early, the only way to tell is to see pics of the bud around harvest but the true test is the jewlers loop on the dried bud. Have you smoked it?

I can only think of two things, either it was too soon to cut (trichome check) or it dried too fast and stoped curing. Still, should be more potent once cured for a few weeks (not only dried), but if its too dry reintroducing moisture wont resume the curing effect as if nothing happened. How many hours of light were you giving it and what feeding? If you were on 24hours might be that terpenes evaporated by light couldnt regenerate before you cuted it, because they do that in their dark periods.

I know others are saying the same things, It wasn't nearly ready yet. It needed weeks more, not days. Most of the resin happens in the last third of the plant's life. Then there's curing which changes everything. Without curing you will get a grassy, green, bitter, hay-like product.

Still.......looking at the plant, I wouldn't think it had "no effect". But if you adjust those 2 very important things, you'll see a huge difference from your next grow.

Something doesn't add up with this then. Sure, they still may not have been ready/mature/ripe, and if you didn't cure then you may have had a mediocre final product, but 4 weeks after that picture there would have been a nice amount of resin. Even if it was a pure sativa that needed lots of time, it still would have been halfway decent.

That would definitely account for it.
Just thinking, plant looks good, healthy at that point and we know it was chopped 4 weeks later, should be having SOME effect minimum, 8 day drying time is about average for me (high temps low RH) and I still get a decent dry that makes an enjoyable smoke after a nice cure so I don’t think it was TOO fast I’ve dried in 4-5 days before and still had a decent smoke

So something else is up here, first thought would be, CBD

I'm sorry but it is quite funny......" <pfffft>....This isn't working!! <pffffft>......argh!!!"

It reminds me of all the products sold in all the head shops and bodegas through the years. First it was "legal weed", basically plant matter that sorta looked a little like weed, it was also advertised in High Times. People tried it for a while when there were droughts, or they had to take drug tests. Or CBD carts......more recently delta-8 thc....

That K-2 and Spice stuff.......there were waves of them when they had hard chemicals on them and people would really freak out. In bad ways.....and they woupd go right back to it. There were people who liked it better than weed. I remember actual angel dust. It was a lot like that. Once in the 80s we found a bag of weed. It was brownish, moist, smelled a little minty.......it was weird, but hey, we found a bag of weed......well, we got high on it, but it was different.......was it thai? Then things got weirder, we were kind of spaced out. For a good hour we didn't even speak. It was only after, reflecting on it that I said it must have been angel dust. Good thing we only had a little.

The first time I grew weed, and I'm sure it was like this for many of us, but this was the late 80s, and we couldn't always get weed. I would harvest just enough, way too early. We would microwave it, then do anything else to dry it quickly. It was green, a little nasty, bitter.......but we got high from it. This is besides all the leaves stuffed into bongs....
