Hi have just started growing and the top of the pot is always wet. It's outdoor and in a small plastic greenhouse at night but was wondering if you can put a small suculent around the bottom of the plant to help drain it a bit more

In my opinion, the only thing that will help it dry back is more perlite in the soil and more holes in the pot. Looks healthy so you must be doing something right. Keep it up!
Thanks man. It drains well but just always wet at the top im not going to water today and see how we go and its not over watering it only takes about a quarter litre at a time. It was just a bag of cheep compost and see how we go. Will keep posted. And will do

Not a good idea to disturb the soil and roots to add perlite is it.

Nope. Too late. You are getting close to having to up pot anyway. Mix some in with your new pot.

Next time you grow add 30% perlite to your soil and if that's soil that has nutrients in it already be careful it's not full of slow release nitrogen cause it ruins the plant when it's in flower, to much nitrogen in flower = smaller yields and overall quality of smoke.

Ok bud I will check the bag and see what it says. But appreciate the advice. It didn't have any little pellets in it just mulch compost really. Is there any way to get the nitrogen out before flower if it had. And I get that far lol. I'm feeding it bio bizz so all organic

I think you might save yourself some headaches down the line if you pop for a bag of ocean forest. Probably about 16 bucks. I think it might fill a 7 gallon cloth pot. Probably about five bucks. The small quantity of perlite is probably where you might get soaked. I only buy that in bulk. I think that’s the minimum size pot I would recommend. But I wouldn’t use one that small. But it will probably get you bye. Just my two cents.

Your more then welcome for the advice mate, I'm a new grower also and I brought normal compost and it ruined 5 auto flowers cause the nitrogen was to high in the compost made all the leaves yellow and had nothing but problems with normal compost, nothing you can do if it has slow release nitrogen in it unfortunately (hope it doesn't contain slow release nitrogen 🙏) now I grow in Coco and perlite adding all my own organic nutrients and cal mag

Yeah mate I'm in a built up area and trying to keep size down but should have went with the bigger put and some perlite. Would it damage it repotting again its about 3 weeks after a week of seedling so 4 in all and had a wet spell there cloudy

Yeah its not good all the things you need to know as it's just a weed lol but I was just trying to keep it simple and low maintenance just let it grow and much luck thus this bud and plenty bud I hope. The time of year it is I only get one shot at it so here's hopeing

Is it an auto flower? If you are talking, just taking the plant out of that pot, adding some perlite, and putting it back in. I don’t think I would even mess with it. I would just watch my watering. I wouldn’t pull it out unless I was going into something bigger. What size pot is it in? It’s kind of hard to tell from that angle.

No its a normal seed star dawg. And yeah just to do that. It's in a 10 litre but had some roots on it in the baby pot so would say its rung around this one by now. But any bigger than 15 litre won't fit in my little greenhouse

Says on the bag added trace elements bud feckin hope not. Just need to keep an eye on the leaves

I guess you’ll just have to use common sense. Due to your small pot size and greenhouse constraints I think you just have to wing it and do what you think is right and hope for the best. At worst you will learn something. Good luck. Post some updates if you can.

I can get a bigger pot and some perlite will only help it. I did do a indoor grow couple of years ago the plants in my pic. Struggled big time with humidity ended up ditching the tent and just left the cupboard door open. But suppose the soil is key and should have gave it some fore thought. But all in the set up had cost me 20 pound seeds were free. And Have just took some pics let you see the rig out.

Cal mag is the only bottle I dont havefrom the bio bizz but will get some. I'm using bio grow fish mix vera and bio heaven. Last time I was watering every water with nutrients and it did effect the growth but was one of the best smokes I tried in a long time. Posted some pics too let you see the full plant

Out running around to the store. I’ll try and get back to you when I get home. Probably about a half hour. But I think we’re looking for more of an indoor type grower to help you out. I don’t feed my plants, abhor, greenhouses, and grow under the sun. I’ll talk to you in a bit. Hang in there.

Next year invest in some auto flower seeds if possible, some strains grow in 8-9 weeks seed to harvest, depending on weather especially with UK weather worst weather by far for summer's.
