Hello everyone hope all is well, quick question. I have a 6inch ac infinity fan in my marshydro 2x4 tent. Is there a certain place i should put it? I have mine a little above my light to cool the light off

I would put the fan under the lamp. Direct air flow will actually help the plant grow strong and keep the soil from growing mildew. Of course you will want to keep a close eye on the moisture level of the soil. Just my opinion, still new to growing. Hopefully more experienced growers will chime in. Good luck with your grow. BTW, nice set up.

Direct airflow on a seedling is no bueno...

While a 6" fan is overkill for a 2x4 tent, it will work fine on low, lol. Turn it up to eleventy and your tent will implode like the house in the movie, Poltergeist.

I have a 5x5 tent and my 6" fan on 10 actually changes the lung room's air in 5 minutes!

"Direct airflow on a seedling is no bueno..." I have my plants on direct airflow from day one. They are doing great. But what do I know? Still new to this, but I have been gardening vegetables for years and when I start a seedling indoors, a fan on them is essential so they do not shoot straight up with a skinny stem that will eventually not be able to hold the plant up.

Standard practice is airflow, but indirect in seedling, once they hit full veg, get crazy fan away, it’ll strengthen them up for sure. But generally indirect is the ticket.

Great point Capt. the way I measure airflow for seedlings is a little movement of the seedling. I am not talking about putting the fan directly pointing at the seedling, just need to see it move a little so it gets some resistance so the roots dig down and it tells the plant to build up the stem.

Pro tip: duct tape your carbon filter/ inlinefan to your ducting just enough to seal, dont make it a nightmare to remove. I find the clamps don't seal well, even with a ac infinity setup/clamps. That's just me though 🤷‍♂️
side note: where you hung it is perfect 👌
Good luck ✌
