My stepdad called and told me he had spidermites I didn’t realize he was starting flower at the time.

He’s trying to learn and do things himself so please be easy on the horrible appearance. He someone flipped it to flower and then to reveg and back to flower.

I told him to BT spray/neem combo the plant. And then dust it with Diatomaceous and he went pretty overboard with that you would mistake it for powdery mildew if you didn’t see him pour the bag over the plant.

I made him move it out of his green house while he bugged bombed and told him we would probably have to get rid of his plant.

He really doesn’t want to get rid of the plant he wants to just let it grow.

Here’s a picture of it outside a week or so after he removed it from inside. I haven’t seen a web or a mite visually from the day after he hosed it down and added bt / earth.

I hosed it down more to try and get better pictures to see what you guys think if it’s still just infested and I need to make him get rid of it.

Or has his bt/neem made it somewhat save able with an extreme budwash at the end.

I think the plant might finish, but I'd probably put it in a lawn & leaf bag and put it in the garbage. I know it's hard to lose a plant. You could keep treating it to see if it improves. They could spread, though, and it's hard to get rid of spider mites.

I’m almost certain they are gone from that plant I’ve looked and looked even with a microscope for my phone and havent really found anything. Im also pretty sure it will finish as the buds and smells have grown from it drastically every time I’m back on that side of the property.

I also treated my lawn and surrounding areas even though it wasn’t in its proximity of my other girls that a few houses down just to be on the safe side. Any extra neem / bt watering always ends up within the yard itself after the girls get the fixings. Just for some added protection.

Being that it’s so far away I’ll probably just let her grow out by his fence line and maybe extreme bud wash then turn it into edible or something I’m still not keen on him potentially smoking mite eggs that laid right in the first flowering week. Or she might just end up in the trash or given to a homeless man that i make sure to tell about the spider mite problem I know some of them will take it no matter what.

If his doesn’t turn out I got him covered.

Thanks for your input on the matter it’s much appreciated.

The only product I can suggest that will save this plant at this point is AgroMagen Biopesticide. It's organic, OMRI listed, won't kill honeybees and you can even eat it.

It's a little pricey but it works the best out of every product I've ever used over 20 years.

You said it's already been sprayed with neem during flower so this can't be any worse than that. Literally the only downside to using this product is it leaves a "deep fryer" smell on your plants for a couple of days after using it. This stuff sprays off pretty easily and you mentioned you plan on washing off the buds before harvest, anyway, so might as well go this route. I highly recommend it.

Otherwise your only other option is to take the plant outside and hose it down with moderate pressure, and gently massage the branches, leaves and buds as you pressure wash the bugs off of the plant. You'll have to do this daily, but it will help keep the bug population down to a low roar, and minimize webs on your buds.

Best of luck to you and your friend!
🤠

Keep in mind that spider mites inhabit the underside of leaves, so that's where to look for them and to concentrate a spray.
