Well I'm at it again! Found a bag seed inside an oz of GMONana flower from Find. Decided to pop it into some soil and see what we get!

It sprouted on 7/21, however due to a family emergency I was unable to give it enough light the last 2 days. Although it battled through the lack of light, it did get a little stretched while trying to search for more light.

I have it under blue light CFLs to start and will be getting my grow tentand LED set up in the new few days. Feel free to stop in, hang out, and share your thoughts and suggestions!

Thinking of keeping the seedling on 24 hours of light over its first few days to give it a chance to catch up. Or should I just stick with a 18/6 or 20/4 light schedule now?

New pic from today. It's nice and perked up today, with those first true leaves starting to come in!

Think I should add a little extra soil to support the stem or let it be?

I accidentally gave mine 24hrs light until today. Didnt seem to hurt. I got one of those humidity-dome/lights/heatmat things on sale, and popped it in my grow tent since it was empty. The light timer (set to 18/6) on the kit wasn't lined up with my 18/6 so ended up 24hrs. Here they are day 6 from the initial soak:

And now that I'm seeing them upclose on a screen... maybe they a bit yellow, but i think i probably over watered a bit at

Yeah seems like from what I read, 24 hours of light initially isn't too bad. And since this seedling didn't quite get the best light it's first 2 days, I figured I'd let it bask in the light for a bit.

Yours are looking good overall! Yeah I'm definitely guilty of overwatering too, especially early on. Just want it to drink and be happy 😂

Haha absolutely.

Yours is looking very healthy. The stem will definitely Thicken up once you get it vegging in the tent. Especially with a bit of a breeze from an oscillating fan

Got the tent set up, humidifier and fan going. Temp is 75-82F, Humidity was low (40%) but now up to 66% with the humidifier going.

Still have it under the CFL to start and will switch it over to my LED over the weekend. Also still keeping it under 24 hours of light, but will either go to 20/4 or 18/6 when I put the LED up.

Day 7 update: 2nd set of leaves are starting to come in. It hasn't needed much water so far, but soils almost dry and ready for a decent watering later today.

I'll be moving from the CFLs to my LED on Saturday, and going to a standard 18/6 light schedule.

Appreciate you following along! This is only my 3rd grow, so always learning new things. Definitely excited to see how it comes out, keeping my fingers crossed for a female! 🤞
Definitely! You should be able to get your first signs in a couple weeks. Once you get some nodes developed you can start looking for those "pre-flowers." You going to keep it for the pollen if it is male?

Day 9 Update: Just added the LED light into the tent and have it just in the veg setting right now. PPFD around 150-200 and will increase as it gets more into veg. Also going to 18/6 light schedule now. Humidity is around 55-65%.

I got a little inpatient and think I overwatered it a bit the other day (slight curl in the first leaves) but seems to be all good now.

I'll post another update in a few days. Should hopefully get some good growth now that it's under the LED.

Want to get your guys' suggestion on a good nutrient setup. Because I'm just growing one semi-unknown plant, especially as a hobby grow, I'm not looking for anything too complex.

In my previous grow, I used Advanced Nutrients Trio. Although it technically could be used for soil, I later found out its more optimal for hydro.

So in doing some basic searching, I obviously stumble on the Fox Farm Soil Trio. What are your thoughts on that? Just trying to find a simple nutrient regimen, without getting too many different variables involved. I'm not opposed to other suggestions, just in an apartment and fairly limited in resources/space. Thanks!

Just a few pics from the tent this morning. The fingers of the 2nd set of leaves are coming in. 3rd set of leaves is just starting to poke up through the top.

Also any thoughts on a fairly simple nutrient setup for soil? May just get the fox farms trio, but curious if anyone else has any other ideas.

I have heard a lot of people say the FF nutes run hot. So start out at 25%-50% suggested amounts and work your way up to avoid burn.
Definitely check out some of the other posts here for more details nutrition. There are lots of them.

Yeah same here, read similar things as well. I decided to get their trio pack, but will definitely be starting out around 25-50% strength. Also read FF needs a good 2 week flush at the end of flowering. Going to do some more reading for future use.

If I had more time, space, money - I'd love to find a good natural live soil mixture to experiment with. But for now, we'll see where FF gets me. Should be here this upcoming Friday, and will probably begin feeding somewhere between the 2-3 week mark (depending on how the plant is looking).

Quick photo from the tent this morning. Gave it some water last night, so starting to perk up a bit today.

FF trio nutes, TDS meter, pH meter, pH down solution and 3-gallon cloth pot on the way. Should be here by Friday!

Forgot to post my grow setup when I set the tent and LED up over the weekend.

Homemade 2x2x3 closet grow, made with PVC and reflective insulation. I have 2 PC fans running exhaust at the top, and an oscillating fan at the bottom to circulate air. Humidifier is also needed with this setup to bring the humidity from the 40-50% ambient humidity in the room to around 60-75% when using it (vary it on and off at times, when needed).

LED light is nothing special, fairly cheap model off Amazon but does the job pretty well for single plants. Includes both veg and flower settings.

Grow medium is Fox Farms Happy Frog. No nutrients added yet, waiting on Fox Farms Soil Trio later this week, will begin feeding between weeks 2-3 at around 25-50% recommended strength. Seed is, again, unknown, coming from a oz bag of GMONana by Find from the dispensary.

Currently on day 11, plant is looking relatively healthy. Open to comments, suggestions, discussion, etc. or just come by to hang out and watch my process!
