Thanks for the quick reply, as always! But that makes sense. I'm too new and nervous to try stem splitting or anything like that haha but may in the future.

How about water saturation level at harvest and having whole plant vs branches? Any benefits to one way or the other on these?
A drill with an 1/8 inch bit. Zip a hole through the main stalk below all branchs. Waller it out a bit. Way better than a split. Less chance of a mess up. Works like a charm. I have a few more days still but I will be drilling my flower room. I’ll update the stalk splitting thread too. Hang tight, I’ll link it.

If you wanna read more about stem splitting, @Captspaulding has a bunch of great reading on his threads.

I'm not sure about the whole plant vs branches. I'm in a scrog net so... i think i'll be cutting out branches regardless lol. Wont be able to pull the net off without smashing up some buds, so i wont try.

I know a lot of people dry out a bit before harvest, But i'd need to read a lot more before i make my decision. Lol got a few weeks left for mine. I know someone else will have some solid advice here
For sure, I'll definitely do some more reading up on it!

But yeah same, I thought about that too. I netted mine, but I think I may be able to remove without cutting it or smashing buds. Guess we'll see when the time comes 😅

But yeah I've heard a lot of mixed advice on when a good time for last watering before harvest is.

Curious to see how your girls finish up! I'll be keeping an eye out!

the method of drying should be based on the temp and humidity of the area it’ll be done in, or if you can control the temp and humidity.. than go from there..
example low humidity 50-55 than you want big branches or whole plant..

Sounds fairly easy! Me being the worrier I am, I'm nervous about messing this one up lol. But I'll definitely give it a try in my next grow! Thanks for grabbing the link, I'll take a look through!

That definitely makes sense, based on how slow/fast it'll dry. I have relatively low ambient humidity, so thinking I'll probably stick to whole plant or big branches at least

Yeah, it’s ALWAYS about what you are comfortable doing. Just keep all the tools in the toolbox. 👊🏻

ok so you need to create the smallest amount of airflow, barely noticeable to not dry out buds from the outside in to quickly and try to keep it cool 60 degrees or less

Okay that's good to know. I can slow down the intake and outtake fans to reduce some airflow and temp shouldn't be too much of an issue. I can get it to around 65 or so with no lights

Day 4 after Harvest: Chopped the plant last Thursday, and hung the whole thing to dry. Trimmed off the big fan leaves with no trichs already and left the rest to trim after drying. Been able to keep RH 45-55% humidity and temps 62-68. I've been checking every day to make sure they're not getting dried out too quickly. Seeming like they should hopefully fall in line to the 7-10 day drying window.

Excited to get them trimmed up and weighed! Got a nice new trim tray and ready to put it to good use. Planning to make some hash from the kief and cannabutter from the trim!

Also, I don't think I ever posted it but I pulled a clone from the main GMONana plant 3 days after she started to flower. Well about 2 weeks ago, it randomly started to perk up and get some new growth! Now it's been thriving and looks like I'm gonna get a 2nd GMONana plant!!

I also had another plant from seed growing that was struggling really badly (it was more or less an experimental plant for me). I couldn't really help it any more, so I took a few clones from it in hopes that I could possible revive one!

So between the harvest, the thriving GMONana clone, and the possible other clones, I got a lot of fun things goin on! Haha

Day 2 of Curing: Checked the plant Thursday and she seemed good start trimming. Trimmed and jarred the buds to cure. Been monitoring rH and burping it every few hours. Buds smell great and seem to be doing well curing. Wanted to post a few shots of the trimmed buds here (obviously not some professional trimmer lol so don't judge me too hard on my trim job 😅).

Also, some somewhat surprising news. I somehow didn't notice my plant hermed at some point and grew seed pods...so while slightly annoyed, I'm excited to have a ton of GMONana seeds! From trimming, I bagged what seemed to be the most viable seeds. But I know there's a ton more all throughout the buds too. So looks like I'm gonna have these genetics for a long time haha. I guess it's a gift and a curse! 🤷🏻‍♂️

Weight, after a week of drying and after trimming, came in at 73.2 grams or 2.6 oz. That's way more than I was expecting, especislly compared to my last grow yielding less than 20 grams lol. Excited to continue to hone my grower skills!

I'll post some more pics in the following weeks as I continue to cure and eventually get to test the buds! I'm planning to make some cannabutter this weekend too from the trim.
