Don't get me wrong, I didn't think I was growing the next Cannabis Cup winner in my closet.

But this looks like some 90s Reggie 🤣

Picked from my 4 month old auto, a whopping one oz of some fluffy ass bud that doesn't even look like nugs.

Strain was "Northern Lights auto" and smokes all right, but def feels like mids, just wondering about the awful looks of it too and maybe why that is.

Oh yeah, smell? There is none 💀

A farmer I am not

You brought it all the way to harvest I call that a win

It could have just been the genetics suck. I’ve only messed with mephisto autos and they great but a lil pricey. I’ve heard good things about night owl for autos.
TBH I'd never bother with an auto again. My other plant is a photo and other than having to spend ten minutes figuring out the timer, the plant looks larger and fuller.

That one also has a strong strong cheese smell. We'll see if it's lawnmower bag looking tho.

If I haven't said it before, Howdy, and welcome to the Farm! 🤠

Yeah it boils down to a couple of factors - most importantly is the strain/genetics, and then comes the light, and then fertilizers and how well it was treated throughout its life.

Northern Lights was a great strain in the 90's.. In 2023, it's just alright.

I think the average THC content of Northern Lights is in the low teens, and I don't believe ANY of these seed companies claiming 20-27% THC - that is total bullshit. Especially if it's an auto version.. It has been a long time favorite of mine to grow throughout my early underground career. It's just not the most potent thing around, these days.

The loose buds are a direct result of either not enough light or not enough fert, or both.

You'll get better as you grow, but yeah unless you have a specific reason for growing autos, I would stay away from them, as a beginner. I don't think autos are good for beginners because they can be so finicky. Sometimes they are, but most of the time autos are a pain in the ass unless you know exactly what you're doing.

At any rate, your end product doesn't look too bad. Next time you might want to go with a regular photoperiod, though. At least you can control how big the plant gets before flowering, and you can top it and clone it and play around with it a little more than you could an auto.

Believe me, I'm no fan of autos, either, so if you were to switch to photoperiods, I wouldn't blame ya!

Good luck and don't feel bad, you're doing alright!

Thank you for all of your advice.

It's a funnyy story actually, I planted 3 bag seeds that I found, and 5 NL Auto that I got because I googled "easiest strain to grow" lol.

My three year old decided to water them one day as seedlings and killed all but these two, the NL Auto lawnmower bag 1970s Dazed and Confused weed you saw above 🤣 and my mystery photo bagseed that smells like cheese with white buds (pics in other thread)

Come to think of it, when I flipped my cheese photo to flower the auto went on 12/12 with it so that's probably a factor. My light is AGLED 2K Noname off Amazon, soil was dirt from the backyard and nutes were Jacks Blossom Booster, grown in 5 gallons buckets

Attached is my other plant
