Bag Seed Grow (Possibly GMONana)

Day 12: Plant is looking good overall. It was bending over a bit a little while ago. Seems like it may have been due to the fan, so I lowered the speed and propped its soil back up a bit. Seems okay now. I'll see how it looks tomorrow

Day 14: The 3rd set of leaves (5-fingered) are starting to really come in. 4th set us on it's way too. The plant looks healthy, and it's stem is starting to thicken up a bit.

The FF nutes came in yesterday, so planning to begin feeding next watering. The feeding schedule recommends starting with 6 tsp (or 30 ml) of Big Bloom per gallon to start, however I'll be starting with a reduced 2 tsp (10 ml). I'll be checking pH and TDS readings during each watering, as well.

Once it's time to transplant, I'll be moving the plant into a 3-gal fabric pot. I would go larger, however I'm fairly limited in my grow space.

Pic from the grow tent this morning. After checking the soil, still probably at least another day or so until it'll need it's next watering.

Day 16: Soil is almost dry and ready for first round of nutrients today or tomorrow.

Being that this is a rando bag seed, if it does turn out female, I'm probably going to use it for some experimenting. I haven't previously had any experience with topping, however I'm debating on giving it a try in this grow. Additionally, I may add a trellis net to the tent later in the grow (since I have limited space, want to maximize my horizontal growth).

Took a few pics fromt the tent this morning. It's canopy is really starting to build up a bit. Also just looking underneath, I see what appears to be indicators of the sex coming in, seems a little early doesn't it? 🤔 can't really tell as of now, but fingers crossed it doesn't grow any balls! 🤞😂

I need your guys' eyes and expertise here. It looks to me like there may be a little bit of mold forming on the top of the soil. I can't tell if it's just me overthinking it or if the slight whiteness parts of the soil are mold beginning to grow. Humidity has been pretty steady between 55-70% and temp around 75-80F.

Let me know what you guys think.

Day 20: The plant just got it's 2nd round of feeding with FF Big Bloom at 2ml/gal and will be increasing to 4ml/gal next watering, followed by reaching the 6ml/gal recommended.

I'm thinking of topping the plant, now that the 4th node is well established and the 5th grow site coming in. I'm going to take another look at it tomorrow and if it's looking good, I'll snip it and see what happens!

Also referring back to my last post, after doing my reading I realized the white mold on top is not the end of the world, although should avoid allowing it to continue. Making sure my fan is giving good airflow to the top of the soil to help keep the mold from recurring. If it comes back with more, I'll try moving the top layer/pieces of soil affected.

Day 21: Welp, the plant was looking pretty healthy today, so decided before bed tonight to top it. I topped it just above the 4th node.

I'll keep an eye on it over the next few days, fingers crossed it bounces back well!

Dude, we are almost at the same exact step. I'm at day 23, and topped mine this morning. Yours is looking really healthy from my untrained eye.

That's wild! Just checked out your grow, plants are looking awesome dude! You got a nice setup 👍

It's my first time topping, so definitely curious to see how it turns out!

Well since we're right around the same spot in our grows, I'm always down to bounce ideas off each other 👌

Thanks man! Small, so we will see what happens when they get a bit bigger. Your plant looks nice and healthy, and the setup looks pretty cool too.

My first time as well. Ive never done a tent grow before this one either.

Knowledge is power 👊
Always happy to share anything i learn, and just as happy to learn some more!

Day 24: A few pics from the tent this morning. Gave it some pH balanced water last night and starting to prop back up this morning. The two new tops are starting to come in and look healthy, and the stem is healing up well.

You’re tent looks better than some of these Amazon ones I been seeing
Thanks dude! I wanted to go the DIY route because I always enjoy tinkering. I'm cheap and handy lol so figured I'd build my own.

Only thing I need to fix is my exhaust. Right now it's just a makeshift cardboard 'duct' with 2 PC fans running through it 😂

I’ve seen people get a 4inch fan or 6 inch and stick it directly on top of the tent as an exhaust. If you want a cheap inline fan with a controller look up vevor 4 inch fan. Works just as well as the much pricier ac infinity and they look awfully alike

Yeah that's what I basically do, cut a hole in the top and stuck my fan/duct contraption on top 😂 definitely a lil janky lol

Thanks for the suggestion, that's not a bad price at all! I'm thinking once I confirm sex of the plant, I'll end up upgrading.

Yeah maybe wait to spend the money that way you don’t waste 60$ on a male plant lol

Day 25: A couple new pics from the tent this morning. Part of the reason I like using the clear solo cups is it allows me to keep a good eye on the root growth/health. Here's a pretty good look at its root system - I normally keep the outside of the cup covered and shielded from light, just remove the cover to check on them. The new growth at the top is looking really good, doubled in size since yesterday!

One issue I'm having is that someone is staying at my place Thursday night. Due to this, I may unfortunately need to keep the lights off for 12-14 hours to avoid them seeing the grow. I know this is going to stress the plant out, however it seems like there's a lot of concensus that this shouldn't do any significant damage around this time in veg.

Looking at the roots beginning to ball at the bottom of the cup, I'm thinking of transplanting it soon. The question I have is, should I transplant before or after the light stress incident?

Yours is looking a lot happier than mine after topping! Mine are pretty sad looking.

My gut says wait until after the planned stress before the transplant. Thought being don't double stress em. Not sure about the 12hrs dark during veg. Might not switch it to flower, but not really sure

Luck of the draw sometimes lol but yours are still looking solid!

Yeah that's what I was thinking too, just don't want it to get too root bound. But the goal of the dark period is just to keep my grow hidden while the person is staying overnight, not to induce flower. I'll be feeding it today or tomorrow, so the nutrients in the soil should hopefully give it enough not to be too upset without some light.

Day 27: Overall, the plant is looking really healthy after topping. It's a bushy little fucker! It hasn't grown balls yet either, so keeping fingers crossed these next few weeks for female!!

Nervous about the dark period I have to put it through tomorrow, but it's got a really robust root system and healthy overall, so I think it'll be fine. Plus I just fed it this morning, so it'll have some nutrients to feed off still.

Side note, I just had another bag seed germinate, so if it pops I'll add it to this grow journal as well!
