Evening all

I am on day 12 of flower. I have pruned a few days before flip and I am on day 12 of flower and there is still a lot of pruning that could be done on the bottom third or so . Is it ok to prune with affecting flowering ?

I may also do a little defoliate on day 21

Any thoughts 🙏

Yeah that's totally normal. I do it to get better airflow by the root zone. Plant will be fine.

Can you post any pictures?
Thanks for the reply @MEGA956

Is timing important?

From memory I pruned the bottoms on my last 2 grows at day 21 after stretch , but I read that it’s better to do it earlier

I will try post pics tomorrow, lights are off now . I always prune a few days before flip but this time they seem to have grown back pretty fast

I knock off a few fan leaves when they look withered. I personally don't get too technical on the timing part but you definitely don't want to go too crazy.

I grew the same strain the last twice so kind of knew what to expect pre flower , doing gelato and 2 others . The gelato has a lot of new growth down the bottom .

Like you said , I like to do it for more airflow , focus the energy up top and also trimming larf is way to annoying but it’s hard to throw away 😂

Need to give time to recover between pruning. Heavy priming day 1, 21 and 40. Get rid of fan leaves. They block to much light. Not necessary inside. If any yellow leaves, remove. Yellow leaves carry nothing, remove. At least this is the approach I use.

I’d usually prune day 21 after flip but not at day 40 or anytime after day 21 . All the main pruning is usually done on day 21

I would defoliate steady through out . I know some people do big defoliations , I just remove old fan leaves that are no longer doing their job or are blocking bud sites but not remove all fans . Although a friend of mine removes every fan with a petiole longer than an inch at day 21 and it works great for him . I’ve not taken that risk yet 🥴

Lights out day 28.

Very nice mate

What strain ?

What ppfd are you at now ?
This is Runz Muffin. Thanks. This is day 31. I actually pick off leaves everyday. I try to make as many branches I can, and later remove the ones not stretching. Not a pro, but I only grow for myself and only what I give away.

Looks great mate

What light are you using ?

are you on 100%

If yes , at what point did you go that powerful ?

I have a mars hydro fce 4800 . At 16 inches away the percentage roughly translates as :
50% = 500 ppfd
70% = 700 ppfd

12 days in I’m at about 650-700 ppfd . At week 4 I’m hoping to get to 900ish with no problems

My light is at 100% day one of flower and 6 inches from the top flowers. I never run my lights 16", but whatever works. My main thing is to get branches strong enough to hold up without a trellis. They are a pain.

On my first two grows I had some kind of issue . I now think it was a nutrient excess or deficiency, but at the time it could well have been light stress . So I’m a bit shy with the power . We’ll see how it goes
