Whoa, no, you’re good, it is an anything goes thread, it’s just always ends badly. Rather have y’all around to share this stuff with, rather than the later. No one is bent about your opinion here. Just trying to keep things cool.

ok, complete change of subject.
i am by no means an aircraft guy or firefighter.
is there any reason they couldn't load up the big ass bombers with water tanks to help the wild fires and just dump the water out of the back?
wouldn't be accurate or fast as they'd have to land to load up the tanks of water, but isn't some help better than none?
even canada has planes that can carry huge tonnage

They actually have planes with specially built hulls called scooper planes for wildfire mitigation on the mainland, makes me nuts they weren’t available as an option…..

Id say its a purpose built issue. simply filling any aircraft with water is not gonna happen unless its bottles of lightly carbonated spring water from the alps

I remember our last big bush fire season. it was totally fucked up. pretty sure fire fighters from north america and canada came and helped us out.

Or through the filtered sands of fucking Fiji……

That’s why I’m still mind blown by the lack of a push to help, I read that the dude who is in charge of the emergency management systems there, was saying that there is only sirens for air raids and bombings, and when they set of those alarms on the islands, the inhabitants are trained to seek higher ground when they hear those particular sirens, which would have been detrimental to the islanders. High ground in a raging wildfire ain’t the place to be when you are in a wildfire with limited options. It’s just a fucked situation all around. They need to do some serious updates to the emergency systems there……
