it’s crazy how well that works.

That’s why I’m still mind blown by the lack of a push to help, I read that the dude who is in charge of the emergency management systems there, was saying that there is only sirens for air raids and bombings, and when they set of those alarms on the islands, the inhabitants are trained to seek higher ground when they hear those particular sirens, which would have been detrimental to the islanders. High ground in a raging wildfire ain’t the place to be when you are in a wildfire with limited options. It’s just a fucked situation all around. They need to do some serious updates to the emergency systems there……
thats insane. emergencies always highlight the problems in the systems. almost always costing lives. we had one down in esperance not long before the BIG one and there was a lot of human error and communication problems that made it worse. I was living there just before it happend but wasnt there at the time thank god. A teacher from there told me he was trying to drive out of town and the fire was moving as fast as his vehicle

They actually have planes with specially built hulls called scooper planes for wildfire mitigation on the mainland, makes me nuts they weren’t available as an option…..
yes i know about the mars water bomber that the government won't pay for,
they said it was to much money. fucking joke.

Whoa. Fuck that! Glad that dude made it. And you are damned right about emergencies laying bare the inadequacies of the current systems. It should be updated everywhere all the damned time.

pretty damn sure it was into the 1.5 to 2 million scoville range and tasted fantastic but i threw the empty bottle out and can't remember the name.

I’ve seen that in Utah before, in a town called golden spike, a fucking cigarette butt caught the brush on fire. Not sure of the speed, I just know from a mile away, that shot was cracking like a damned whip. It’s nothing to fuck with. And with how brutal it’s been on the weather end, you would think some folks would have a touch more sense until the rains come……

i cant handle super hot food anymore. when i was younger I couldnt get enough of it but these days it just hurts. I do like spicy food but I have to draw a line at 3rd degree burns on my sphincter

Bro, it’s actually surprising how easy it is on you the next day. But I will say, that shit will give your chest hairs a perm.

not air raids or bombings but tsunami warning is what that siren is for.
but you really have to think what the guy was going thru in the heat of the moment, no pun intended.
send the alarm and see everyone run uphill to their death or do nothing?
all i know is i'm sure glad i wasn't in his position.
i've read that he quit and also read that he died from a heart attack, whether the news is correct or not, i have no clue so take it as you will

Kept my distance today……

Ah ok, I knew it was for something not good. I too can understand why he quit, damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
