It’s all gravy buddy! I ripped out the walls, dried this puppy out, built a new kitchen and bathrooms. Had an army of really great out of state friends hit Home Depot’s on the way into help (hard getting a box of screws at the time) so I had new insulation and walls back In a week later. Fact is, it could have been way worse. I try not to complain ever about it, some folks lost everything you know? But you are right, the experience was everything. If you can live through that, you’ll be alright…..thx man!

So that night, I’m watching the fight…..I’m enjoying it, getting a bit frustrated, but I’m listing to the rain, boy, it really coming down….another round goes by….still raining like crazy, I’m still watching intently, I start to hear my cats outside at the door meowing like crazy, I open up, look down, my cats are practically swimming. I swoop them up, go back and tell wifey, guess what? We’re about to flood….no sooner that I got back out to the living room the water was already coming in. Mayweather vs mcgregor, also the night hurricane Harvey flooded my house……lost my crop and a 1967 rogers drumkit…..what a fucking night…..

Fuck.. all of that sounds horrible. Happy you, the missus, the fam and all the animals made it out well. The crop: you have proven numerous times since that if you plant them.. they will grow.. the rogers kit.. I'm kinda devastated. That sucks.

Man it was the last thing on the checklist, it was wife, kids, animals. Electronics, unplugged everything I could think of stacked furniture, oh yeah, the crop. Too late, oh fuck. The kit! Too late there. Bass drum was full, floor Toms floating, cymbal stands, fallen over. It was fucked. Skins a lot thicker now though. I can’t stand people named Harvey for some reason hahahah. But on the mainlines, I really try to get them as symmetrical as possible, I’ll usually top to 16 or 32 tops a plant. With mothers, I top every possible spot until it’s hundreds. then it’ll just crank out cuttings like a freight train.
