Weeds went outta control, the test site (16’ x 16’) covered with heavy black tarp produced more than all the rest of the plants combined, I have a 12’x250’ish roll of the tarp material availabe for free, at the end of the season I’ll amend and till in all remaining vegative material and probably 2-3 bales of promix BX, then I’ll cover the whole garden with the tarp completely. In the spring I’ll pull back the tarp and re amend and till, then re cover and cut holes for plants, fuck the weeds east organic feed twice per season hand done yeah it’s a 60x40 garden but we plan to expand it to 80x50 next season, im saving a lot of these seeds for next year they where all heirloom seeds I bought for a reason 😏

Hey, my wife and I have been playing hell getting good cherry pepper seeds. Is there anyway I can get you to set some of those aside? I have some seeds I can trade ya 😜. We have been having a hard time with burpee seeds lately. They don’t want to grow. A variety of different veggies just won’t germinate, but in particular we have had a pretty hard time this last year getting the cherry peppers to break ground. Our cayenne, poblanos and Serrano and habaneros all took off no issues…..you would be a hero without a cape!

Absolutely fam! Was planning to save seeds this year anyways, the past few years have been quite difficult to get all the seeds we want and we believe it’s gunna get worse.

We started all ours indoors in the tents i probably planted 40 seeds to get 12 good plants

Seems to be a common issue, surprisingly we had probalema even finding these seeds last year nobody had hot cherry in stock even from the sites I usually use that always are stocked up

It had wifey and I scratching our heads. But we aren’t the only ones running into these same problems this year….it’s really a bitch, it has thinking we just need to dump our stock and start fresh, but then that’s a scary prospect altogether with the lack of germination this year. It was nuts. My wife was really upset by this season, for all the obvious reasons. It was all working against us this year. Seed stock, environmental, critters and bugs. Just a bad one all around. One of the reasons it’s great seeing your yields.

I agree 100% garden as very odd this year, still produced / producing but not as it should have, already planning to till and tarp the whole garden, re till in the spring with fresh amendments then re cover and keep it covered all season, cut in holes for plants.

So we did find that the Thais cherry peppers and habs we did 4 plants of each in the covered test section this year and then 8 of each in a normal bed, the 4x of each plant so far has produced twice with the 8x plants did uncovered.

Gunna have to adapt and overcome lol. I feel seed saving is Going to be the new norm, before we know it every garden will have HTLV unless we protect ourselves from it

Went in the tent and started noticing all the falling branches, i pulled the net out farther from the wall and started tying some up, pretty early, but can’t complain about that, guess the bump in feed rate this run is showing now

Also went from the 6” risers to the 7.5” risers and removed some lower bud sites that where hidden way down there
