The discoloring you see on your leaves is light bleach/burn, too high intensity light, Still they are thriving with buds ;-)
Adjust lights intensity also top and/or train your plants next grow to be at a manageable optimum distance from the light's to prevent that and you gonna get even bigger buds !

Cheers you gonna harvest some nice nugs there.

Also if you see that photo with that albino bud , that's a bleached bud too close to the lights.

If you plan ahead of time for the cultivars you are growing when to flip them to flower, so they don't get too close to the light after the initial flowering stretch phase, will help a lot ;-)

Yeah, the tallest ones are getting blasted. I topped once in veg and did my attempts at super cropping during stretch. They really grew more than I expected.

What I worry is if I raise the lights or lower the intensity, will I still get enough ppfd for adequate flowering. Without a meter or a trained eye I don't know. I am kind of willing to sacrifice the tallest colas a bit if it means the whole plant gets enough energy.

Those LEDs are surprisingly strong they can be 2 or 3 feet from plants without worries.

I'm getting some leaves light bleach/burn at 3.5feet from my tops (at 80% 520w of led bars) ;-)

Oh yeah bleached so bad they do look albino lol. They said medium height and all my research said they grow about 50-200% in flower. Well these two different cultivars took off a crazy amount. I figured I would have more room with only 2 plants in a 4x4.

This was at flip, during stretch and basically finished growing. They went crazy, maybe it's because my first grow but I expected them to be smaller.

Training was pretty nonexistent this run. Just worried how backing off the light would effect the overall ppfd. Hopefully them frying is a better choice than not enough light? First grow and so many questions...and usually multiple answers lol.

Wow. I did raise the light about 4in, 7 days ago. That's when the other colors started popping up so I was just skittish to raise them more. I will probably raise them another few inches and see how that goes. Though I'll be freaking a bit if they start changing more colors! I'm so used to the green lol.

Each cultivar will stretch different so you gotta know them for sure to be precise and manage space better but usually hybrid's stretch 2-4x times in flower, the sooner you flip they tend to stretch more (like x times its size after the moment you flip to flower), ime.

My humble suggestion would be start flower at 60% for the stretch phase, than 80% at 2 or 3 feet, 100% and at 2feet only if it's a sealed CO2 supplementing room.
Easy them in to higher intensity during the flower slowly.

Not really tho, better to give them the amount of light they like best, they will provide with better quality and quantity buds for you in the end ๐Ÿ˜‰

Definitely no CO2 and it's not sealed. They were at 40% during veg. 80% for about a week of flower, then I put it at 100%.

I looked up these particular genetics as best I could specifically but turned up very little. Then you've got different phenotypes. I felt like it was a guessing game and just ran these that had medium height and the same expected flowering time. Hoping it would be pretty even. only want to grow from seed for my first handful of grows, so cloning I won't dabble with for a while.

Well those buds at the top will be burned but what about the lower sites that sit about 2.5ft lower? If I raise it to the perfect height for the tallest, the middle and lowers would get way less energy right? Quantity is not an issue but I'm concerned with quality. Wish I had a ppfd meter lol.

Yep it's always a gamble with new unknown cultivars, than there's the phenotypes too for sure, one way to manage is to top 2 or 3 times during veg, that will help a bunch managing height of most cultivars. And spreading them apart at similar heights. Another high yielding technique is to scrog ( the best for even canopy).

Just dl Photone or by an old 4 way probe. I use a crusty old green one. Works great.

A ppfd meter is more a tool for repeatability (witch is great tho), but not all cultivars can take the same amount of light, in the end reading your plants leaves is the best tool you can have.

I had actually planned to top more during veg but figured as it was my first grow to keep it simple with one topping. I even have two trellis net's and plan to try them out on a future grow.

Will topping help the overall height per say or just more about a level canopy? I mean I barely removed a 1/4in when I topped, just what was needed.

Ainโ€™t that the truth, Iโ€™ve had plants that took close to 2k beforeโ€ฆโ€ฆit was nuts ๐Ÿคฏ

Mikedin has plants right now that are literally an inch away from the light. They love it. So crazy.

It help to an extent, than it's training and/or scroggin that will get where you want.
