Hi people,
So i am currently having problems with my rockwool grow.
4" cubes on slabs. Feeding Athena Pro Line 2.7EC under LEDs (Lm301h). Not adding any CalMag as Athena rep told me its not necessary. Seing bad interveinal necrosis.
My substrate sensors are showing media EC 4-6. Even if i water with a lot of runoff media EC is never going below 4. PH 5.8.

Happening mostly on newer leaves. I also see some tipburn happening.
I thought about just adding CalMag like usual because it does look like CalMag deficiency to me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To my eyes looks like light burn damage, lm301h diodes are very strong. Had some strain show it like that too when going from indoor to strong sun in greenhouse. Other cultivars may fry the tip and yellowing looking like mag def but mainly at tops when in fact it's light burn.

2.7 is advised by Athena
Usually never had problems running it that high. Sounds crazy but some Fert. Brands are used with these crazy numbers.
Any teros12 sensor users here?
ive never really been over 2.0ec in soil, and when i do this happens. cal/mag locks out a calmag flush at 6.4 should remedy this asap. thats normally how i fix it.

Next time I'm at my fathers, I'll get a picture of how close he runs. He's led without burning youde be surprized trash, he can get them almost touching. If nutrient levels are in order, plants have less chance of light burning.

The strain that shows the worst necrosis is the one furthest from the light.
Also some leaves that are covered up by other foliage also show these symptoms.
Interesting.
It's not calcium deficiency tho neither magnesium.
How's pH doing on the worst offender? Any major swings?

Also have a better overall photo of the worst plant?

do agree though it looks like light burn. but this is mainly how it shows when infact its a calmag problem.

I'm not adding any extra CalMag as I got told by local Athena rep that when EC is at 2.7 i wont be needing it. I usually do but I also never run Athena before. Might be lockout from over fertilization but i already water with lots of runoff. Flushing overnight with 1EC also didnt stop the progression of the necrosis. I keep wondering why media EC isnt dropping to input EC tho. Always at 3.5-6EC (more often in the higher 4-6 area)

Visible in this graph is hitting field capacity in the rockwool but EC not dropping under 4 (input EC 2.7)

Athena nutrients an their schedule imho is utterly BS, they recommend rockwool/media EC of 5+ in flower tho.
said that we have to accept a higher EC in substrate than what's goes in, that's just how it works in rockwool, coco, peat/perlite, even in bottled organics schedule in organic soil.

With the calnit in athena feeding, calcium should NEVER be a problem.
look around for plant prod hydroveg + calnit for next runs when you run out of what you using, way cheaper and does the same job with way lower EC needed/recommended

how close to the lights? the worst offender away from the light is the same cut or another cultivar? any better photo of that plant?

The lights are a good 40cm away. I strongly doubt thats the cause but i will try raising it. Currently running 850ppfd on the canopy. 900ppm Co2. I still think its some nutrient issue. I will try raising lights and lowering ppfd. Any other advise / tipps i should try?
Happening on all cultivars btw. Some show stronger signs of it than others tho.

Thanks for the replies so far, i love thcfarmer 😍
