Hi Growers,

I am looking for suggestions for how to prepare my indoor tent for my next grow.

What should I use to clean/disinfect the tent?

To complicate things, my outdoor plant spent a day in my indoor tent. After spending time in my indoor tent I noticed it had a little bit of webs on it. Looking at the lower leaves with a loop, I found a few small things crawling around. I suspect the outdoor plant is at the start of a spider mite infestation. I'm concerned that the spider mites might be in my lung room and in the indoor tent. Should I disinfect any differently to get rid of any potential spider mites in the tent and lung room? Maybe I can outwait the reproduction cycle. My wife has house plants so I suspect they can live on those past any waiting period.

Thanks Growers!

It’s the eggs your going to have most problems with
Personally the few times I’ve had mites I have used predator mites
One type doesn’t live as long but eats more there good for infections the other type only eat about 5 adults ( maybe more eggs if no adults to feed on ) a day but can live longer and can live on pollen if there’s no food I tend to think of them as the clean up crew

If you just bleach you will have to get every nook and cranny

Don’t know what you mean by maybe you can outwatt them

Either way you’ll need to disinfect well and tbh the sooner the better and be better to clean again a week later in case you miss any eggs.

The adults will leave In search of food

Hi Gmix,

By waiting them out I mean don't plant anything for a month so the eggs hatch and the mites don't have anything to eat and that would end their life cycle. I ended up cleaning the tent and just started a new grow (so I didn't wait a month). The plant that had mites was my outside plant and it only spent 1 night in the inside tent. Fingers crossed for the indoor tent grow. I will go to a grow shop and see if they have any beneficial mites. Right now, the plants have not sprouted. When would I introduce the beneficial mites?

Thanks Gmix!

If you see signs then of mites then I would use predator if your not seeing any probably not worth getting as if there’s no food for them they will leave in search of some.

Good luck bud 🙂👍
