Use less!!! a little goes a long way. It'll cause foam in DWC and Aeroponics especially, so I use alot less in these type of systems. You can use a little more in an ebb-n-flow, but I've never used as much as the mfr recommends...

I've ran up close to 15 ml a gallon in the rez with zero foam. As said above its prob something else.

My water temps are at 67 always, Cemchris I bet you have never seen a system that has flow like the one I am using, My chiller return and my undercurrent return feeds are pumping like the fucking pumps at the Hoover Dam, I'll make a youtube video....stay tuned

I've been adding Hygrozyme 10ml/gal in my 5gal dwc (non-recirc) and it's scary how prolific my roots are!

I had first tried Roots Organic and the guy who sold it me didn't ask (and i didn't tell him) that mine wasn't recirc and my bucket spewed foam like an I Love Lucy show! My roommate sees me running at her with a net pot dripping everywhere and roots swinging in the air as I yell; "Hold This!"

Record time for a 5 gal nute change!

Pictures don't do justice to the amount of flow these are putting out but it gives you a look at the foam it was so much worse than this

hahaha great story man I love it! I can relate bro hehehe

I am really starting to think that it is the H&G roots excel coupled with the Hygrozyme, I think that one is causing the other to foam or vice versa

just wanted to add I use GH lucas formula and recently battled some root rot and as a result started a h2o2 regimine as well as hygrozyme in my aero res and surprise I had the foam too. The foam became slime which equalled paranoia which in return resulted in several rez changes and at 90-100 gal that gets spendy. so I actually recovered about 50% of the rotting plants so not a total loss I can't attribute the hygrozyme to recovering the plants a 100% as I used h2o2 as well but I'm sure it helped. In retrospect if I wouldn't of been a dumbass and had a chiller then I wouldn't of even got pythium and wouldn't of even used hygrozyme as before I never used it. I now just maintain 3ml a gallon once a week for "peace of mind" with good results and no foam or slime. so as usual don't trust any of the manufactures on dosages, as we all have seem to found out from time to time the hard way. (i.e. use the manufactures recommendation on the package of koolbloom and watch your plants fry faster than bacon) In my mind it's simple these products are expensive (well not kool bloom but hygrozyme and other supplements and nutes) and the more you use the more you buy and the richer they get. So if I have product of course I'm gonna tell you to use more because I'll make more; simple business. IMO

$1.00 makes things all better

That little foam in the corner was bothering you, if so you are thinking too much about it. You say there is a lot of flow, that's relative I know. It does not push your roots to one side of the bucket does it? JK

We have the exact same system, mine is space out a bit bigger and I have 2 more buckets and I have never ran into this issue, if it's even an issue. I use H&G Multi-Zen instead of Hydrozyme.

no it doesnt JK, and no that little bit doesn't bother me at all it was foaming 4 inches thick in the whole res, Right now my PPm's with GH 3 part are N-69, P-29, K-86, MG-19, S-26, Fe-1.2, Mn- .5, Zn-.1, Cu-.1 Total 283 PPm's
and that seems super low that is only 4ml gal for micro and bloom and 3 ml gallon for grow, I think I should be at 10ml per gallon on the Micro and Bloom and 7ml on the grow that would make it N-173, P-72, K-210, Ca-134, MG-48, S-65, Fe-3.1, Mn-1.3, Zn.3, Cu.2, B-.1 tottal PPM's 706 what do you think JK?

Giving H&G multi-zen a shot
Same here. I've had good results with hygrozyme, especially with keeping mother plants going for a while...but it is too damn pricey IMO...$40 a liter is BS.
I'm trying out the multi-zen because I've heard good things about it, and because a bottle is the same price as hygrozyme but you get twice as many uses out of it...4ml per gal, compared to 8-10ml with hygrozyme.
