A mate gave me this tip, so can't take the credit, but it does work.

Take a long match and cut it in half with a razor blade
Place a very small droplet of superglue on each of the cut ends
With each half in each hand, gently press the gluey ends against either side of the husk/shell
Hold for 20-30 seconds for the glue to cure
Gently pull apart and remove the husks

You need to be gentle, and have a steady hand

damn...... My husk removal just went much more poorly, with me trying to open it up with tweezers, the whole seedling ending up getting ejected from its hole (completely intact at least) into the air and onto the ground, where i picked it up with my fingers, once again took the tweezers to it, and finally pulled it off before putting it back in its hole. I feel like I just did something terrible to this infant plant, like circumcision. Hopefully like circumcision the plant was too young for all that abuse and trauma to have noticeable effects on its life lol

it eventually fell off, (flicked it off when it felt loose to the touch) but it's now growing super slow, didn't help that I accidentally knocked the party cup and all the top dirt and plant ended on the floor spread out like it got hit by a mack truck..I tucked it back in the cup, see what happens.

Try spritzing it with water next time with a spray bottle she will soften up n pop right off in a day or so

Ah it’s always worked for me to soften the shell anyway to each their own I suppose trick is plant the seed a bit deeper that way the soil tears it off for ya
