My 12 gauge has a 28 inch barrel, too, which makes very tight groupings with 00 buckshot at 100+ yards. It's a beast.

Yeah it's crazy how barrel length makes so much of a difference in effective range. I had a Mossberg 500A with an 18 inch barrel and pistol grip for the longest time. It was a great shotgun don't get me wrong but better for close range. This 28 inch barrel? Well, I killed a Great Pyrenees that was killing our chickens constantly, from about 110 yards away with 1 shot. I wasn't trying to kill it just maim it and keep it from coming back, but it dropped like a sack of potatoes..

had a shot with paps air rifle other day and, hit a screw same size as the pellet. where buzzing with that probably only about 20 ft though haha.

They have some really powerful air rifles these days. They have really come a long way. Same with black powder weapons. There's a lot of options out there for "restricted people" now.

Dude I gave the neighbor EVERY chance to solve the problem but he didn't care enough to. It's sort of a long story but long story short, one of my neighbors decided to start a GP puppy mill, had 12+ fully grown GP's running around our neighborhood, terrorizing everyone, killing everyone's chickens, goats, even the cattle ranchers lost SEVERAL calves from them. The cattle herd now is afraid of anything white. They even abandon white calves because they think it's a GP.

A lot of people don't know this, but GP dogs are very aggressive in numbers. They killed and ATE an entire Coyote. They killed and ate all of our goats and several other neighbor's goats.

I've done everything from warning shots to calling the Sheriff's dept. and the Sheriffs told me to start aiming at the dogs because ammo isn't cheap (real quote)

But yeah in Colorado your animals are your responsibility and if they are on someone else's property they have every right to shoot them. Especially if they are causing harm.

Edit to add - oh and my Boxer/Pitbull mix is now ruined because of them. He used to be the nicest dog when it came to meeting new dogs, but one time 6 of those GP's surrounded him and would have killed him if I wasn't there with my shotgun.. Now he sees another dog, he wans to fight because he thinks he has to. It's fucked up. Fuck this neighbor and his fuckin dogs.

Thankfully the brush is super tight.
