I started with the 3/8 chamber for the estimated 4g. Lol this is the prototype. Just a cutoff from some maple i had for another project. I figured the maple might be best since it's closed grain. Pretty tight pores so i'm hoping that mitigates the sticky bud sticking to the wood. Lol that and i'm going to go as fine as i can with the sanding.

Second run i may add some mineral oil to the wood, buff it, and let it fully cure so i have a food safe and flake free finish

Depends on how heavy you go. For a cutting board i wipe on let it sit till it soaks in (10 mins usually) then wipe it off, then let is sit in a cool dry place for 2 days. Should be fully set by then.

It really depends. They have some wood oils like tung oil that polymerize. So like 5 to 7 coat with 3 days between each. And then no hard use for like 30days for a total cure. It ain't food safe but would provide a more durable finish
