And I get a pic drop,I believe I remember what you where talking about I believe whoever made the topic called it a contest.. but I believe we were all just posting for bragging rights![]()
does it happen like a month after flower, if it does its normally the buffer running out in the soil causing ph to be off.View attachment 2079080
Day 25, I am off the fox farm, using a different nutrient, I have always gotten a lock out between day 25 and day 45. So far so good. I am not completely sure it is the nutrients, but this is only way I know how to find out. Slow process but within the next 20 days I should have my answer. Or maybe be back at the drawing board, at that point I'm have to take a deep dive into my water source and the additives they use to manage lead corrosion. Hopefully it's just fox farm sucks and I will never see a lock out again.![]()
Happens day 25-45 of flower, doesn't happen early on long veg, I am using pro mix which should be buffering at 6.5, but my soil is 7.0, I believe my water source adds limestone to fight lead corrosion in the pipes. And the added limestone in the water raises pH by 0.5. that will be my next look/change, but first I have to finish test on nutes. I'm in agreement could be pH lockout due to water source or buffer fade. But buffer fade would lower pH not raise it, still that's next on my list.does it happen like a month after flower, if it does its normally the buffer running out in the soil causing ph to be off.
try get a runoff ph test when it next happens, then you should see if its that pilted.Happens day 25-45 of flower, doesn't happen early on long veg, I am using pro mix which should be buffering at 6.5, but my soil is 7.0, I believe my water source adds limestone to fight lead corrosion in the pipes. 7 gallon pot roots do have room. Long long water cycles. 10-14 days. That seems too long to me and might be a hint to the problem. But I feed 4 gallons with a 1/2 gallon runoff. That was last grow with promix moisturizing potting mix. I'm now in promix BX which has more perlite. This one is 6-9 days between waterings so dries out quicker but not as fast as I have read others do.in a bigger pot where the roots have access to more medium, the buffers doesnt run out as fast, as roots can access nutrients from another part of the rootzone. where when the plants rootbound / buffers have normally run out and ph is normally off. then plants cant access certain nutrients as good there for they lockout.
I have every pH runoff I have fed the plants. Nothing out of the ordinary, it is using about 2600 ppm per watering. That was last plant I am harvesting right now. I hate triming.try get a runoff ph test when it next happens, then you should see if its that pilted.
yeh buffers still could run out though bud, i dont no much about promix. but normally buffer run out after like a month or so, depending on the size of the pot, if i dont ph going in after a month same sort of thing happens. when i would test ph its normally off under 6.0 same thing could be happening though the other way round ph rising over 7.07 gallon pot roots do have room. think youll figure it out soon pilted, plant above looks perfect to me.Another key factor is previous plant I had lock out same time frame. It didn't really start growing quickly again. That one same strain as least one harvested at day 88. (But I did have a power outage on that grow so kinda messed up my tests) this last plant started growing again when I changed nutes, and I am harvesting on day 67. So new nutes seems to have made the growth restart but still deficiency got worse and worse. Leaves were just tapered back at the end. This next grow should give me better data.
I agree it is something I will be looking at after this test if issue continues. The buffer promix uses is limestone, this is because it's in peet moss and peet moss has a 3-5 pH value. So they buffer it to raise the PH. If the buffer is fading, I would assume the pH would reduce. Water is always ph'ed to 5.8-6.2. so kinda weird that the pH is high.yeh buffers still could run out though bud, i dont no much about promix. but normally buffer run out after like a month or so, depending on the size of the pot, if i dont ph going in after a month same sort of thing happens. when i would test ph its normally off under 6.0 same thing could be happening though the other way round ph rising over 7.0
