Hey!!

Hope everyone is having a great week thus far.

I have a question, one of my plants, grown from seed is showing some weird growth. It’s the only one of the 4 that is showing stunted growth. I’m not sure if it’s just a runt, but it seems like it’s some sort of deficiency, I’m thinking maybe potassium or nitrogen ? The plant seems to be growing outward as opposed to upwards 😆. I had my LED grow light set to 400W but have turned it down to 200W in the hopes that it will stretch out a bit. I have also started dropping night time temps to try get some distance between nodes. I recently gave it some Cal/Mag at EC 0,8 because I noticed some yellowing between leaf veins.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Have a power day !!

She looks overwatered
How frequently do you water and how much?

She also has some magnesium striping could be caused by over watering, so what do you water with?

I see a bit og taco leaves could be caused by temperature or humidity

Need some more info😆

Light is way to close! Back it off twice the distance it is now or more.
What ph are you running? Potting medium. Water and feeding solution.
What potting medium?
What are you feeding? .8 is pretty high for this age. Plant would be very happy .2
if the percentages are correct.

Increase the nitrogen intake

Hey @MrGreenfinga thanks for the info.

I’m watering every day or every other day depending on when I feel the pot gets about 50% lighter. I used to wait till the pots were dry and super light but according to what I’ve read that’s too dry and may cause other issues.

I water till about 20-30% run off. Im new to growing in coco/perlite mix and am trying to find the right balance between when the right time is to water. My medium is made up of 70%coco 30% perlite.

Im feeding my plants Terra Equatica nutrients. 2,5ml/litre grow & 1ml bloom nutrients as per the instructions on the label for vegging.

The temps are around 27-28 ‘C and the humidity is at 65-70%.

Ok sure, I’ll lift the lights a little more thanks.👍 I’m running a PH of 6.0. I’m in a 70% coco/30% perlite mix. I feed Terra Aquatica nutrients. I fed 1,5ml/litre of cal/mag EC 0,8.

Looks pretty good. If you back the light off the plant will green up.
Some plant's just like to be very short and talky until they switch and stretch.
A lot depends on light color.
Continue feeding via chart. If your ph meter is on point.
She should improve for you.
Give it 2 or 3 weeks and see if it thins out a bit.

Awesome, thanks man. I appreciate that. I’m trying to get some clones out of her as I got the seeds from a decent breeder. def gonna give what you have said a try, thanks 🙏

Based on the taco-ing and interveinal yellowing, it's under too much light. It also might be over-watered, based on the texture of the leaves. Overwatering isn't usually as much of a problem in coco, but it depends on the product and how you prepare it. If there are still a lot of smalls and dust in coco, it can hold on to too much water.

Hey @ArtfulCodger thanks for the response. I try break up the small pieces when I transfer into bigger pots but I see why that could be a problem. I’ll want another day between watering.

Hey @ArtfulCodger quick question. How would one know the difference between mg deficiency and light burn? Is it because of the taco shape in the leaves that you associate it with lighting intensity?

It's a system, with the parts working together. Mg is the center atom in a chlorophyll molecule. Absorbing light energy for use requires Mg. So "over-lit" and "Mg deficiency" go hand-in-hand. Interveinal yellowing is a classic symptom...of both. You might think of it like a car: the light is the accelerator, and Mg (and other nutes) are in the gas tank. Increasing the light is like stepping on the gas harder. The car goes faster, but uses more gas.

Ok great. Thanks for that explanation.
